Could use improvement

By

from Alaska

If they cost $200 I'd give them 5 stars
This is my 8th (I think) pair of Zamberlans and they just keep getting better in the performance dept. Perfect combination of flexibility and support, usual Zamberlan fit (narrow heel, roomy toe box)
HOWEVER: The leather is extremely porous and not too durable. A few miles (especially in wet brush) after conditioning they soak up water badly. The Zamberlan spray is worthless- made for street shoes I think, so I've gone back to snow seal which lasts longer but still works out of the leather quickly. They're not abrasion resistant in the least. I wore a hole through one toe before I had even wore the little ribs off the sole. I covered the toes with boot guard and am still using them but for $350 you'd think they'd come with at least a rubber toe cap and preferably a full rubber rand. In fact I'd gladly pay more if they did.

Not worth the money

By

from Idaho

I researched and tried on every boot out there after listening to people tell me the high end boots are worth every penny. I tried the lowa, crispi, kenetrek, zamberlan, and every other comparable boot. I settled on these as I thought they fit my foot the very best. I wore them around all summer to break them in for hunting season. I've had them out twice now on long elk hunts in Idaho with both wet and dry weather. I've treated them numerous times with kenetrek boot wax. I haven't been very impressed. I always wear two pairs of wool socks and these really rub on my heels. They are also so porous that they soak up water like a sponge and the boots become twice the weight. That's even after I treated them numerous times with leather treatment. 100% waterproof I'd say not. My feet did get wet. These boots are WAY overpriced and I've decided to stick with my underarmour speed freaks that are a fraction of the cost, much lighter, and every bit as waterproof. This high dollar boot stuff is for the birds.

Best ATACS boot by a long shot

By

from Pacific Northwest

This is the second pair of Zamberlan boots I've bought, and they have lived up to the expectation that the first pair set. They are light, rugged, and extremely comfortable.
I bought these because I recently started using ATACS-AU and FG camo as my patterns of choice. This boot is a muted halfway between the two. It isn't exactly either, but it works well with both.
Totally waterproof, highly breathable, very supportive, and worth every penny.
