This is one BIG can of bear spray! I fish in bear country quite a bit, and I carry UDAP bear spray. There was a hiker killed by a bear in Yellowstone park just 5 days ago, and I can't help but think how it could have been avoided if he would have been carrying bear spray. I'm a hunter, and I have several guns that are capable of stopping a bear, but there are a couple problems with that. The first one is that a bear is moving way too fast to be an easy target, and the second is that I might be able to fatally shoot a bear and still have it maul me anyway. I really don't want to have to kill a bear in self defense, so pepper spray is the better solution for me. BYU just finished a study showing that bear spray is 96% effective in stopping bears. A study in Montana a few years ago showed firearms were only 55% effective. I'll play the numbers there! This can comes with a chest holster, which is my favorite way of carrying spray. It lets me get to the can with either hand, and it's not under water when I'm wading.
