my go to rod
I have 5 of these rods and different models of them. i have never had any issue with them. great price for a great rod. i would highly recommend these rods. i use them for salmon and sturgeon. yes i catch sturgeon with this rod.
Own four of these great rods!
Have caught 7 and 8 pound trout with these rods never had any problems.
Excellent Rod at its pricepoint
I have a 10'6 Salmon Herring Rod and it has served me great fishing Kings on the Columbia River in the Pacific Northwest. Good action, loads up well, and keeps fish pinned.
Theses are fantastic acting rods and looking rods.
I have had three of them all bought at sportsman's and they all BROKE the same way, a straight across break. None of my other rods have broken in this manner and if they did it was because of poor rod management. Theses rods just break, when ever they want to. The SST rods that broke where the 7' 6" trout rods. Okuma would not replace them.
Own three, great medium priced rod!
I have landed very big fish with these rods and have never had any problems.
Love the extra long handle. Just a great rod.
Okuma SST Casting/Trolling Rod
I bought three (3) of these casting rods. They all broke from normal use, and they all broke thee same way. Which tells me they are flawed from design. They are good looking and have great action. but they don't last. Sportsman's only replaced one and it broke as well. So I don't own one anymore.
Okuma SST Spinning Rod
Bought three of the SST casting rods. All three of them broke exactly the same way which tells me they are flawed in design.
Sportsman's would not replace them. They are great action rods but they don't last. They are the only rods that I have broken from normal use.

Love the look and feel of this Okuma SST Kokanee rod... Very limber and fast action for optimum sensitivity... Only problem I have with it is that the forward reel seat was formed very tight and wouldn't allow for a nice precision fit of my Okuma 200 CXL reel's front foot... I had to literally bend the front reel seat up with a screwdriver enough to allow the front foot of the reel to just barely go under... The plastic trim on the front reel seat was damaged somewhat by the reel foot when I tried to work it into place under the seat... Was able to get it under enough to hold and the rear reel seat went over the back foot of the reel with no problem. I was able to tighten the rear seat jam nut to secure the reel into place... This hasn't affected the fishability of the rod, but I surely hope my reel doesn't come of when I'm hooked into a nice Kokane Salmon...
Okuma SST Salmon/Steelhead Spinning Rod
Wow, my girlfriend just picked me up this rod and all I can say is its a very nice rod for the money. I got to put it to use right away on the carbon river. I got a few pinks and a king with it. The action was great with enough backbone to handle the king also. A great rod if your on a budget!
