Okuma Cold Water Line Counter Reels - The Okuma Cold Water Series Line counter Reels represent a step up from Okuma's Convector Series Line counter Reels. These levelwind reels have tremendous strength, power, and smoothness to reel in salmon, steelhead, muskies, and other large game fish. This reel features a lightweight, corrosion-resistant frame and sideplates, oversized machine cut brass drive and pinion gears, and a machined aluminum, two tone anodized spool for rigidity and strength. The aluminum ratcheting star drag provides precision drag settings and the multi-disc Carbonite drag system is extremely smooth under the pressure of fighting large fish. An aluminum handle arm with Ergo Grip knob provides cranking comfort. The mechanical line counter function measures in feet and does not fog up so you can always see the reading. DLX models are left hand crank line counter models. Backed by a 1-year limited manufacturer warranty.

I bought a Okuma 203 line counter last year because I wanted to get back into lead line trolling and was so impressed with how it performed I bought another one today.
Some people may complain about the drag system, but I have caught a lot of decent fish with it and haven't had a lick of trouble.
With line counters you have to calibrate it and one of the things I like the most is with a full spool of (100 yds.) Sufix 17lb. leadcore it is almost dead nuts on and there is nothing left to do but tie on your leader, a dodger and bait of choice.
I have them matched with 7.5 foot Eagle Claw Featherweight medium/light Kokanee rods and the set up is outstanding if you're into playing fish and not horsing them into the boat.
If you want to try lead lining and need a good inexpensive reel, I would definitely point you in the Okuma Coldwater direction.

Purchased the CW-203DLX for a westport Black bass trip... only caught 1 Bass but the reel performed OUTSTANDING! used 15lbs P-line high vis... reel was smooth and casted 4oz sinker very well. Retrieve was awesome and drag was excellent. It was its first fishing trip... I will update if it begins to faulter... so far it is great!
