The Mr. Heater Big Buddy is as good as advertised. I bought it primarily as an emergency heater during power outages. I tested it out in my 2-car garage and it heated that space quickly. Along with the heater, I also purchased the Mr. Heater 12' hose and Fuel Filter. I bought the AC Adapter mistakenly thinking the heater could also run on AC power. The AC Adapter is merely an alternative to using 4 D cell batteries to power the heater fan motor. So I will probably return that and buy some extra D cells.
But in terms of heating capacity, this heater is very efficient and powerful.
Works great in my clam six-pack ice shack. The blower uses 4-D batteries and creates nice air flow to warm the shack. It is very sensitive to movement though. It shuts off if you bump it at all, which is a great safety feature. For those of you concerned about elevation, I used this in the Snowy Range Mtns at 9,000 ft all day with no problems. The only time it shut off was when my propane tanks ran empty (I was using up almost empty tanks).

Heater does the job. works as advertised
I upgraded from the little buddy and couldn't be happier. This sucker puts out A LOT of heat! I used it camping in my kodiak canvas and we were all super toasty. I have been using it this winter to heat up our home when it gets really cold. I have the quick disconnect hose and a larger propane tank that I hook it to. Does its job...my wife even hit it with the car when I was using it to heat my garage while I was fixing my other vehicle and it still works and looks great.
Upgraded from the little buddy to the big buddy and while the little buddy was great the big buddy puts out A LOT more heat. Plus the quick connect to the 5 gallon tank ensures that the fit is secure and I don't worry about running out of fuel. If you are deciding on which one to get...spend the extra bucks on this unit. Well worth it.
A great little heater. I spend 6 months of the summer at a beautiful lake in Utah. When on the water in my boat my GPS shows an elevation of a little over 7600 feet. I have never had any problem of any sort except having to true the heat down. For those having a problem at high elevation.....I really don't understand. I also have 2 friends who up there at the same place and they have never had a problem.
I use it for my weekend hunting/camping trips and love it. The fan option makes it much better than the smaller model.
THis little guy puts out a lot of heat and does it well. I love the different settings and the fan. worked awesome when the power went out int the winter.
Bought for a friend because i have one of my own. Planing on buying another fo myself.
