Purchased a set of Leupold's PRW 1" low rings because Leupold is a respected brand among many military & civilian community shooters. Unfortunately, Leupold must be making their "Made in USA" scope rings and associated hardware from the same "quality" assembly line as the rest of made-in-china junk.

Rings mounting hardware failed during first install, after proper torque was applied with a torque-wrench. Just look at my photo. Truly disappointing.

As Advertised

Rings work great, easy installation. Torque specs are 22 in/lb for mounting to base and 28 in/lb for rings. Use the proper tools and a torque wrench (one designed for smaller applications, not rebuilding an engine) and you will be fine. I suspect other customers used the incorrect torx key or a poorly calibrated torque wrench.

Broke the dovetail when mounting in 1 piece base

I purchased a Leupold Scope for my Savage .270 and this mount system not knowing I needed a 1 piece base. I purchased the base and these rings and received them in the mail today (Nov 2nd.) . I installed the front ring exactly as specified in the instructions using a 1: DOWEL, and the dovetail broke off. the machining and fit was way off and way too tight. So...now I have no scope and opening weekend is Nov. 11th. Get a scope with a longer tube and save yourself the hassle!

I have a set of PRW 30mm low rings on my AR. Torqued all the screws per the instructions and have not had a problem. The quality looks good to me.

Poor Quality - Disappointed

By

from British Columbia, Canada

When I received these rings it looked as though one of the screws had been partly stripped while being assembled during manufacturing. While mounting the scope the holes do not line up very well and required a fair bit of fiddling to seat screws. Save yourself the hassle, there are plenty of better options in this price range.

tried these and like them

By

from michigan

i had problems with another reputable brand. Anything can happen to any brand. That is the way it is. Nothing is perfect 100% of the time. I thought I would try these rings on my new set up. There is nothing wrong with them. I like them. I like the idea of 4 screws on the base and 4 screws on the scope. These rings solved my accuracy problem. No regrets on the rings and they look nice.
