Used this in in all 4 seasons ,summer open all windows nice .can sleep easy.in the winter holds up to the cold and the outside elements.used the buddy heater cracked open side windows turned off heat before heat before going to sleep .my grandkids slept good and in the morning turned heat on,took off the chill it was i8 degrees outside and about 50 inside. We bought the vestibule and a old piece of carpet set up a table to cook as the vestibule makes a great wind break also a chair to sit down and remove our boots and still has more room for stowage. On the inside we laid down 2x2 foam pads to make this 10x14 tent a palace to stay in we hung a gear line across the tent to hang all sorts of things. this is the tent just perfect with 5-6 people.went camping for 3 months after retirement in pa,wv,my.tenn fl Carolina Virginia then home to south jersey. Going to do it again in a few months when March rolls around, can't say enough about this tent home away from home no r/v that's not camping .
I recently made the decision to make an investment in a 10x10 VX tent. It was pricey, but I found it was worth it. The craftsmanship and quality are top notch, its easy to assemble and dissemble but I imagine it might be a little tricky for persons of short stature. I am 6'4" and that made assembly particularly easy for me. BE SURE TO WEATHER THE TENT PER THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE OWNERS MANUAL. Its simple... set the tent up days prior to your first camp trip, make sure the weather is going to be warm, sunny, and not too humid. Spray the tent all over with a hose, getting all the canvas wet... allow it to dry. This drying process shrinks the canvas just enough to close up any small holes that resulted from the stitching that otherwise WILL LEAK if you don't follow these instructions first. I did this process, and on my first camping trip it rained.. HARD! Not a single drop of water made it into my tent for 3 days.
I purchased the 10 x 10 in January and have used it in winter and summer now. It is awesome. If I had a complaint it would be that it is heavy so it's not something you want to pack far, but I knew that going in. Incredibly spacious inside. There are screens and doors front and back with an awning option in the front. One person can easily put this tent up. The roof sections are assembled on the ground and then it is propped up from either side, one side at a time. Used it in a downpour, in snow, in cold and in heat. No issues whatsoever. No need to treat the canvas either, in fact, the instructions tell you not to. Comes with carry bags for the quality tent pegs and the other quality hardware used in assembly. I recommend using the tarp as a barrier, but the floor of the tent, as is every other piece of this product, is a high quality, very durable, waterproof floor. There are accessories available as well for built in storage loops sewn into the roof. Cannot say enough good about this product.
This tent so far has performed well. Very easy to put up and break down including putting it away in the tent bag. The side vents work extremely well for allowing draft to flow through the tent on warm days. Have not used it yet in cold weather but will get the chance this year on my Elk hunt and my buddy's deer hunt.
