    Hodgdon - Nuff Said!

Hodgdon is known for making high-quality, reliable, predictable gunpowder. Triple 7 is their entry into the black powder substitute market and thankfully so considering all the negatives of shooting traditional black powder. This stuff ignites reliably, and delivers slightly more power than black powder, yet doesn't gum up your gun, or demand immediate cleaning to prevent steel-dissolving rust from getting started. I used this for loading .45 Colt and .44-40 cartridges because it delivers greater velocity than "recommended" smokeless loads, and the traditional smokey discharge that makes shooting a single-action so satisfying. For the novice - and there are many, FFFg granulation is generally used for bore diameters smaller than .50 caliber, and is the ideal granulation for C&B revolvers and metallic cartridges.

Not a 'bang' just a 'poof'!

This FFF blackpowder is NOT useful for .58 caliber percussion muzzleloaders. Buy carefully. You can't return this stuff. Considering the Cal hazmat fee, it is way too expensive to make this mistake.

Great product, easy cleaning as well.I can't use pellets (my first choice) in my 1851 .36 caliber Navy revolver because no one makes a 15 to 20 grain pellet,so this must do.

Ignites when it should, and you can sure tell the difference when you clean your weapon. Don't have the black residue as real black powder. This was recommended to me by someone who shoots black powder.
