I bought the first one back in November and have returned 4 different ones for different problems. The handle came apart and broke on 2, blades we're not pitched right on one and wouldn't even cut a quarter inch into ice, and now the one I have I am returning this last one cause the bolt stripped on it's first use. I will never buy Eskimo again have had nothing but problems with my gas auger as well. I ice fish at least 3 times a week and I need dependable equipment and Eskimo just isn't what it use to be
Works great when it has fresh blades, but I've owned it for 1.5 seasons and have only been getting about 6 days on the ice per blade set. For some reason they seem to come out of angle really easily, where it just spins on top of the ice. Upgraded to a Lazer.
This auger is a pretty good one just after 200 holes I needed too sharpen it up too make it work better. I just hate the new handle design because it popped off a few times and I never figured out how to assemble it so it could work again without worrying my auger would drop.
This hand ice auger is a must have. Even if you have a gas auger, it's worth it to have this as a backup. With it being super lightweight it doesnt add much to the overall weight of your gear and cuts just about as fast as the ice augers. By the time my buddy got his auger running and drilled a hole, I had gotten through the ice with no sweat.
