Can't believe Browning would put their name and logo on these!!! Can't believe Sportsman's Warehouse carries them!!! Bought these seeing them in store and didn't research them. Wish I had. On my dog 10 Minutes and his left rear boot was lost. Found a piece of the shredded velcroe strap but not the boot. We were in short CRP and tumble weed, here in Colorado. 2 hrs later, through only 2 grass corners around a corn field, the other 3 boots were missing their soles, straps torn off or shredded through and most of the rear and top mesh was gone or worn away. Didn't bother to call Browning, as I don't want replacements and seriously doubt either Browning or Sportsman's Warehouse would refund what I have left of 3 boots in the box now. Tossing them in the garbage and chalking it up to the experience that a great company and name don't always equate to a good product. I will say that my dog was brought up and used to cut bicycle tire inner-tube boots and tape wrap holdings. Didn't like em, but tolerated them over goat heads and stickers. He loved these when I put them on him. didn't fight, pull away, or walk like a clown for ten minutes before entering the field; however, after they started wearing through, he hated the dirt and sticker accumulation by the time we got back to the truck. He was glad to get them taken off. Save your money and aggravation with these.
I have bought 2 sets (4boots) for both of my 9yr old Labradors for the purposed of keeping stickers out of their paws while hunting pheasants here in Colorado. I bought my first set 2 weeks ago for opening weekend. Well they lasted about 1hr and then my pup lost her front 2 boots, 1 in a corn stubble field and the other in a wheat stubble field. I had even used sport tape and taped them on to her (per the other reviews of previous customers) and she ran right out of them. By the end of the first day of hunting she had worn the bottoms of the boots off and her pads were full of goat head stickers.
I called Browning on Monday and got great customer service and they replaced her boots almost immediately... just in time for the 2nd weekend to go back out and hunt again. Because of such great customer service, I decided to buy a 2nd set of the same kind for my other Labrador. After 2 full days of hunting, and a little bit of engineering and trying to figure out how to keep them on I am down to 1 working boot. Both of my Labs wore the toes, souls, stitching, completely out. I even had to bandage one of my labs boots all the way around because she had no bottoms left in them after 1day, and she even has hip dysplasia.
BOTTOM LINE, if you have a working dog... DO NOT BUY THESE! There is a good concept here, but these simply cannot withstand a hard working/hunting canine. I LOVE BROWNING, have been shooting an A5 that has been passed down through 4 generations. Love their customer service, would expect nothing less. But these boots are just plain terrible. They pack dirt in, until you wear out the bottoms. I had other hunters ask me how I like them because the look like they've had them for years, when I told them they've been wearing them for 2days, all they wanted to know was the brand so they don't get the same ones.
I wrote the previous review on this product. BUT wanted to make a comment about Brownings customer service, as they were my next call to ask for a refund or replacement. There customer service is FANTASTIC! I thought this should be mentioned as their product could use some work, but they took care of me. Full replacement to try them again, no charge, and shipped out in less than a week! Here goes round 2! I will give my overall after 3 full days of this dry heat and chasing Colorado roosters this weekend! Bottom line, I would recommend a Browning product based on great customer service, but not on durability so far. Happy Hunting!
I bought these Dog Boots last Friday before the Colorado Pheasant opener. I put them securely on my 9.5year old Labrador for added protection to keep burs and stickers out of her feet. I added some extra ace bandage and sports tape to make sure they stayed on (as reviews from others said they tend to come off). They worked great for about 2 fields, then she lost one in a cut wheat field, and the other in a cut corn stubble field. By the end of the second day of hunting (yesterday), she had worn out the bottoms of the boots and so much that the stitching all came apart in one. The other one was severely worn at the toes. All were terrible at keeping dirt, rocks, and stickers out of the inside of the boot!
