I recently took this bag out on a short trek to see how it performed and to get into shape for an upcoming elk hunt. I think this bag will suit a bowhunter better than a rifle hunter. Granted, I used a 700 SPS with a bull barrel to test it so a much lighter rifle may not have the same issues that I discovered with mine. I found this bag to be a performer- especially for the price. PROS: It held up and didn't kill my back while hiking five miles. It kept the rifle attached to the pack and didn't swing the rifle while walking You can adjust the height of chest buckle, which changed the pressure points on my shoulders camelback hose clip kept the hose accessible It was comfortable, but the shoulder straps started to "dig" as the hike went on. Zippers have 550 chord loops and were quiet closing and opening Waist belt is removable Bow/rifle pouch has a strap that secures the cam or stock into the pouch Padding was soft Cons: I had to tie a knot into the straps holding the (heavy) rifle because they kept coming loose You can't remove the pockets on the waist belt and they are relatively small Wish there was more zippered pockets instead of elastic mesh inside the bag Wish there was more molle straps along its sides Didnt see a hook or strap to hang the camelback bladder inside the bag Over all, I like it. I think I'll dedicate it for my bow hunts and I will be looking for another bag for my rifles.
