I am 6'5" tall, 220lbs. with 36" waist, 36" inseam, 26" quad, 17" calf, I have owned 6 pairs of these pants over the last 27 months. I bought 4 pairs initially in black, loden, slate and dark brown. The browns got taken at the laundry before the 1st year was up. The crotch gave out (more on that later) on the lodens after about 18 months, so I tossed them. I lost 40lbs. since purchase and re-bought the loden and dark brown in a smaller size. I use the pants for work and travel, as the pockets are very convenient and they are generally tough in the seat, thigh and knees. Not bad in hot summers, and good in winter if you layer some thermals underneath. A comfortable fit - not too baggy like some cargo pants. Frankly, these would be the perfect work pants if Wrangler fixed two issues:

1. The color fades significantly after the first wash and continues to fade noticeably after subsequent washes.

2. The front-most seam in the gusseted crotch has failed on all 6 pairs I have owned, separating in one or more places and eventually opening up to the point that I have to mend it (i'm no seamstress), or it completely rips open and become unwearable. This is not due to any crazy acrobatics on my part, as the rest of the stitching and material of the pants are still in really good shape by the time this crotch-fail eventually happens. Were it not for this one issue the lifetime of the pants would double.

To be fair, I have gotten nearly 100 wears/pair so generally, I would recommend, but I have 4 other-wise perfectly good pairs of pants that have holes in the crotch.

Good pants, but...

1. The pleather front pocket protector is TOO Thick. NONE of my tape measures can slide onto the pocket nor my Every Day Carry knife. The clip will not travel over the material without help. I actually cut the stitches and remove the brown protector then re-sew the top of the pocket. (see pic) NOW my EDC knife (Benchmade) and tape measure fits onto the pocket. They need different material.

2. I remove the hammer holder. it might be nice for the one guy in the world that uses it but, that's what tool belts are for. That hammer loop does nothing but snag and catch everything I work around. I work on semiconductor machines. I would love to see the hammer holder removed.

Comments about Wrangler Men's Riggs Ranger Pants - Dark Brown 36X32:

Wrangler, I write this review out of desperation. My husband is a carpenter and these pants are comfortable, practical (hammer loop on the right side) and the double knee that holds knee pads is a plus. Within the past year I have purchased 6 pairs of Wrangler Riggs Ripstop and each has torn, some within a month of purchase. With any other product I would easily see the first pair as a good reason to abandon that brand and find something better. The problem is that my husband really, really (obviously) prefers these pants. This is getting out of control and I just ordered our 7th pair online a few hours ago. We want to remain loyal but I'm ready to lose it over the quality here. Why is this happening? What can Wrangler do about it before I completely flip out and refuse to order new pants for my husband?!

Comments about Wrangler Men's Riggs Ranger Pants - Dark Brown 36X32:

Like Drew T from Charlotte, NC posted in his review these pants aren't produced for really tall, thin guys. I'm 6' 4" and all legs. I wore Wrangler cowboy cut original jeans in a 33 waist and THIRTY EIGHT inch inseam (sometime 40") for years because the 38" inseam shrinks up to about 36 or 37".
I'd really like to wear these work pants but since the 36" inseam is as long as they are made they shrink up to an unacceptable length. I've never understood how clothing manufacturers can offer pants in FIFTY FOUR INCH or more waists for all the over weight people but not accommodate tall, leggy, thin folks like us.
Seriously, 54" waist?? That's not "extended" that's flat out FAT.

I'm a tall skinny guy (6'3" @ 165lbs) with a 36" inseam & 30.5" waist. I like to wear a 32" waisted pant for a roomier fit, but can never get the 36" length with small waist. Since not offered in my size, I can't really have a solid review of these pants. I sure wish pants were available to fit me & other tall skinny guys!

I purchased these as a lighter alternative to the carharts I normally wear. They are comfortable an fit nice. There seems to be more loose threads than I'm use to. The one improvement I would make is to have more rigidity to the leather patch maybe have it to continue into the pocket to actually protect from tape clips, it's kinda just for show.

My husband wore these pants Maybe 4times. He was so happy with the way they looked and fit he only wore them to town. The other day he decided to go out and put gasoline in his motorcycle and got a few small drips down the front of the pants. With normal pants this would not be a problem. With this type of material, the material literally begun to disintegrate. He is pretty disappointed as am I considering the amount of money we paid for these.

Awsome pants, could've seen myself using them for years. Unfortunately, I seem to be in a minority of men who are in possession of an actual posterior and hips. It doesn't help that I'm overweight as well. Still the seat in these is rather shallow and narrow for something that's supposed to be relaxed fit for big and tall guys. While I'm standing the waist fits fine, the hips fit fine, the legs fit fine, the crotch fits fine, it does ride up a little in the back though. When I sit however, the seat of the pants stretches tight, it pulls the front of the waistband into my gut like a lasso, and the back of the waistband sits open far enough for me to slide my hand in sideways against my back. Since everything is done as cheaply as possible nowadays there's absolutely no extra cloth along the seams so I can't even take these to a tailor to have the seat let out. Bottom line I imagine that if these pants fit you you'll love them, but if you have anything resembling a backside or hips they probably won't.

I love these pants, I didn't have anything bad to say about them until the other week, pulled them out of the laundry and noticed that they are ripping about .25" above the stitching for the reinforced knee. Took a look at my other pairs and they are also starting to show the same wear. No where else is showing any signs of wear. I had been recommending them to my friends and family. Now I'm just not sure on the quality. I've had BDU's that never showed any signs of wear like that even after a year in the desert.
