I have recently started shooting long range and the first long range rifle I purchased was a Ruger Precision rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor. I did a lot of research and chose the Viper HS LR FFP with the XLR MOA reticle. I could not be happier with the choice. The optics are excellent. The adjustments precise and repeatable. This scope offers many features that are only available in much more expensive optics. I have very happy with this choice. I highly recommend this scope.
This is the first long range scope I have ever purchased. Previously I had been very skepticle of the prices of long range optics, however I am extremely happy with this scope. I bought it to place on a tikka T3 light to use for sheep hunting. While zeroing it, i had absolutely no issues and went thru very few rounds to get the shot group in the black at 100 yards. Since that day I have been accurately placing rounds on target at ranges exceeding 800 yards, and have been able to accuratly range targets utilizing the reticle. I have no doubt that for a beginner like me or an experienced long range shooter this optic will impress you.
Bought as a new addition to a new Ruger Precision Rifle. Reading all I could, I made the decision to buy this one over the others based on the reticle. While it may be busy for the competitive PRS guys, I love the ability to just move and hold. Shooting alone without a spotter most of the time so I have to see and call my own shots. This makes it all possible. Love this scope!
I purchased my first Vortex scope about a year ago for my Ruger precision rifle and have never looked back. The glass is nice and clear and adjustability is awesome. I liked it so much I purchased another one for my 6.5 Creedmoore.
After purchasing this scope I'm hooked! The clarity and features are second to none! If you don't own this scope you need to go out and buy one!
This is my first Vortex rifle scope, im just an average guy who saved up and bought a nice gun and wanted a nice scope. It was difficult to find as they have been on back order, i take that as a good thing. i have it mounted on a Sako Finnlight 75 300wsm and it shoots 1/2 moa. im new to long range shooting, but i zeroed it at 100 took it out to 400 with approximate load data and the turret was right on. this scope will spend the next few years in the Pacific Northwest getting used a lot. it will be put to the test, i want to see how it hold up to impact and just plain abuse. until the next review, Thanks Vortex!
Bought this scope and put it on a 300 rum ackley. Crystal clear glass and a great turret. Dialed in a 10 inch plate at a grand fist day, right back to zero every time. Only wish that the turret locked zero stop is good but not perfect
Completed Darrel Holland's Long Range school with this scope. I was competing against $4-5k guns and Schmit-Bender and ART Scopes (Darrels Design). This course puts you and your scope through the grinder on ranging, identifying and doping wind. Throughout this course you are constantly on the dials making changes. At the end of the day this scope performed FLAWLESSLY and held .25 MOA on windage and .5 MOA on elevation. I was up and down the dial relentlessly and can't say enough about the performance. It Held zero and never let me down.
A buddie of mine pulled out his custom 300 win mag that had a vortex viper hs lr 6-24x50 ffp scope mounted on it at the range and asked me if i could help him site it in. Well dont have to aske me twice. So once i zeroed it in at 100 yard we were all so collecting all the data and inputed it in to his phone app. We started confurming that the yardages matched the hash marks to the retical. They all checked out. Then i preformed a tracking test and pasted. Then i had the idea to see how far i can reach out. I was hitting a 18 inch steal plate out at 1800 yard and was loving the clear image i was still getting at max power. Not all blurry like the scopes im use to. I put over 50 rounds through his rifle that day and the scoped preformed perfictly without any flaws. Wish i could get my hands on to put on my 300 ultra mag.
I went with the 6-24x50 FFP HS-LR great scope, the shipping was fast and friendly. I love the way I was treated as well. I used a Law Enforcement discount and they sent my a shirt with a thin blue line on it. Which is symbolic to law enforcement. I just want to let anyone out there know who is thinking of a different scope I tried several top brand scopes and I'm sorry nothing compares to the Vortex price, clarity and above all the dependability. I am a fan for life. Thanks Vortex keep making the best!
