I needed a alternative to the screw in type for my viperHD 15x50's due to the fact that there is no room between the tubes. This fits great but is a little too loose for that power in wind due to the adapter and base having some play. If you dont use the base part and screw the adapter straight into the quick release plate on the tripod it is awesome and very sturdy.

I bought four of these tripod adapters, one for each pair of binos our family owns. For the price they are good. We spend a lot of time year round behind our binos and after a the first trip where there is any wind at all, the stud has the slightest room between it and the base to vibrate. It's very noticeable and very frustrating. He do a lot of coues deer hunting in Arizona and are very often looking at great distances. And this vibrating while any tiny bit of wind is present is no bueno. Another downfall while archery hunting I am always holding my binos on my top cam while stalking, the stud does make noise when it hits the cam, so I end up taking it off to prevent this from happening. I love my razor optics from vortex, I do wish there was a better vortex tripod adapter, one that has a screw in stud parallel with the binos and the adapter had a tightening screw that you can tighten from the top and has zero movement.

Not Happy Fittings Do Not Lock Together

    By

Comments about Vortex Optics Vortex Uni-Daptor Binocular Tripod Adapter:

I am big Vortex fan. Picture of Uni-Daptor made me think it was like QD fitting. Put it on my High Country tripod, set my 10X50 Viper HD's on it. I moved and accidentally bumped the tripod and my binocular's were on the carpet. I won't use it again, unless I have binocular harness attached.
First time I haven't been able to give a Vortex product five stars.

Comments about Vortex Optics Vortex Uni-Daptor Binocular Tripod Adapter:

I purchase this soon after buying a pair of Vortex ViperHD 15x50s and a Razor Spotter. I wanted to be able to put my binos on the tripod i bought with the spotting scope. As previously mentioned with high wind it is best to skip the quick attach and just screw it straight to the tripod. I plan on purchasing a second quick release plate for my tripod so i can just leave one on my binos when Im in high wind areas.

This is a must have for high-power binos

Comments about Vortex Optics Vortex Uni-Daptor Binocular Tripod Adapter:

Mounting your long-eyes on a tripod is about the smartest thing you can do if you're going to be glassing for any length of time. I was cursed with naturally shaky hands too, so being able to steady my binos on a tripod is even more beneficial for me. It screws right onto a standard threaded tripod adapter screw.

Simple design, easy to mount to your Vortex binos. This adapter also fits on a couple other brand binos I have as well.
