Seriously one of the best Spotting Scopes I have ever had the pleasure of using! It is a bit of a pricey investment, but It was totally worth the money. It has had some heavy use over the past year or so but has held up perfectly, Absolutely crystal clear and super easy to use.
It is a bit weighty and does take up quite a bit of space in my pack but I haven't been on a scouting trip or hunt without it. Definitely worth the extra weight and space in my opinion. Vortex just doing it again with another fantastic product!

Bought to spot for my Weatherby 338 LAPUA with a NightForce 5.5x22-56. At 200 yards they are equal in clarity but a little more magnification with the Razor. At 300 yards Razor lost some clarity(couldn't see bullet hole) more magnification though, and the NF rifle scope was clear but a little distant(could see bullet holes still). I'm disappointed that I'm spotting the same with the two. Night Force(rifle scope) $1800.00 and Vortex Razor $1600.00. For pictures w/my Canon D60 camera it is works great up to 250 yards, happy w/that.

I use this with the 30X MRAD eyepiece for ranging targets, the 20-60x eyepiece for general use at the range. It's nice to see a .30cal hole on a target at 600 yards!!
When I am not at the range or competition, I am seen on rooftops and microwave towers setting up long range microwave radio links. Some of these links are beyond 5 miles, and to confirm line of sight requires some serious glass. I created a bracket to mount to a radio tower to steady the scope for the long radio links I install.
With the exception of fog (I'm sometimes near the beach in Los Angeles area) I have yet to have a weather condition prevent me from seeing my far end location.
I was in need of a good spotting scope for range use and hunting/scouting time. I knew I wanted something on the smaller side of spotting scope but would still get the job done. There are a few options for this size spotter but none are as clear as the Razor HD. I've put this to good use several times with my tripod at the range and out on the farm and it's simply amazing how clear everything is throughout the magnification range. My friends have even made the comment about how nice and clear it is and for it's size they were not expecting it to be that good. Great piece of gear and it goes everywhere with me now.
Bought this for the backcountry and wish I would have bought one sooner! Awesome scope in a lightweight an small package! Great for when you don't want to carry the extra weight of a big spotter.
Great scope, light for the size with great FOV!!!
For the price it's the best on the market. 1100 yards away with smoke in the air from a forest fire...
Ive had my Razor HD 16-48x65 for a few months now. I haven't taken it on a hunt yet but have taken it on some scouting trips and to the range. So far I am very happy with the clarity and quick target acquisition. At distances further than 800 yards I can start to see some differences in clarity compared to the Swaro ATS series scopes but they also cost double what this scope costs. Vortex was great to deal with buying it and is in general an awesome company!
I have had the Vortex Razor 11-33x50 for two years now, Its a great little scope for people that carry everything on their backs. It's very compact yet clarity of the Razor HD glass makes up for the the lac of magnification. Below are a few hunts Ive been on where I was able to find animals from using my Razor.
I'm heading into my 5th season of birding with my faithful Vortex Razor HD 20-60x85 spotting scope. I've taken good care of it and it has more than paid me back with hundreds of hours of observations in dozens of locations around the world in every type of weather imaginable, from Trinidad and Tobago to the Bering Sea island of Attu to the Serengeti in Tanzania. It seems to be unaffected by atmospheric conditions, it's never fogged up on mye and the focus and zoom controls are as smooth as the day I bought it. The field of view is clear from edge to edge up through 60x.
The only "con" I've encountered with this scope is that the construction involves 2 parts that are held together by 3 interior screws, joined beneath the central housing. At just about 4 years old, and just before I was to leave for Tanzania, one of these screws sheared off, causing some play in the body of the scope (which still functioned optimally by the way). Which brings me to the topic of Vortex's incredible customer service.
I called, explained the problem and my situation and overnighted it to Vortex. It was not only fixed but given a factory cleaning and was turned around in a few hours and overnighted back to me. I've never experienced such personal, quick and efficient customer service from anyone! Cheers and Thank You Vortex!
This is my second vortex spotting scope. I got this one as I needed a smaller one for packing I am very pleased with how clear this scope is.I like how easy it is to use on my window mount.+++++++
I've had this scope for 4 years. What a great scope. You can look through it for hours and the clarity is amazing. I've used it on several hunts and I wouldn't buy another one.
Bought this spotting scope with the intention of deep back country hunts. I was a bit concerned with the lower power range but once I used it...... holy smokes this thing is amazing! Super compact and lightweight with razor sharp image quality! Do not be fooled with its small size, smaller objective, and lower power range, this spotting scope will not disappoint you! This optic has taken on many other roles now that I've seen what it is capable of, easily spotting hits on steel at 1000 yards it has found its way into my precision rifle shooting gear for matches, and training sessions.
