Vortex Diamondback Rifle Scope - The Diamondback scope completely changes the rules. First, the solid one-piece aircraft-grade aluminum alloy construction makes it virtually indestructible and highly resistant to magnum recoil. Argon purging puts waterproof and fogproof performance on the agenda and the advanced, fully multi-coated optics raise an eyebrow when crystal clear, tack sharp images appear in the crosshairs. All this and more in a riflescope that seems like it should cost so much more - but doesn't.

  • Advanced fully multi-coated optics
  • Precision-Glide Erector System
  • Waterproof and fogproof with argon gas purging
  • Solid one-piece aircraft-grade aluminum alloy
  • Fast focus eyepiece

Ive owned three of these scopes so far and recommend them to ANYONE who is in the market for an economic hunting optic.
As for their warranty, I submitted one such scope that fell from approximately 4 feet onto a concrete floor and was utterly ruined. Vortex had my rebuilt scope back in my hand(in Alaska) in under two weeks and it didn't cost me a dime.
In summation, I HIGHLY recommend this optic for anyone who wants quality materials, excellent construction, great low-light capability and anti-fog properties all at an affordable price. My friends, you won't be disappointed!

Originally I bought a Crossfire because my 6 year old budget Simmons was fogging up. I shot less than two boxes of ammo (30-06 180 grain bullets) with the Crossfire and the rear lens popped out from the kick of the gun. Vortex warrantied the scope and let me step up to the Diamondback by paying the price difference. I haven't had any problems with the scope other than shooting out to 300-400 yards. Originally I didn't think I would be shooting this far, but have twice found myself with Elk that were between 300-500 yards. I've also been target shooting with buddies at these distances. Shooting past 300 yards with this scope is difficult because the optics start to become blurry; I couldn't adjust out the blurriness with the eye relief. I thought it would have been a little better for a 12 power scope. Might just be my eyes, but I didn't have the same problems when looking through a much more expensive scope at 500 yards. I wouldn't recommend the V-plex for anything past 250 yard mark because it is hard to adjust for bullet drop using Kentucky Windage. I would recommend the Dead-Hold BDC instead. If I was to do it all over again I would have forked out the extra cash and bought a Viper with the turrets.

Not for hunting in bad weather

By

from Northern Maine

Comments about Vortex Optics Vortex Diamondback Rifle Scope:

I read a lot of reviews on this scope and bought it based on the good feedback. Clarity for the price is unmatched. However this scope has a very short eye relief. Too short, if you're not at a perfect angle and hold, it will hit your eyebrow. I can deal with that. But in rain and snow it is useless. Moisture smears unlike any scope I have ever owned. If it fogs up, snowing, or raining you can't see through it at all. Other scopes I have in wet weather and snow you can see to shoot at least. I put this scope on a brand new rifle and had to leave the gun at home in bad weather. In Maine that is most of the time. Poor purchase.

On a budget and want a top of the line hunting scope

By

from Walker County Ga

Comments about Vortex Optics Vortex Diamondback Rifle Scope:

I purchased this scope to see if vortex optics were as good as I have been hearing before I spend the money for a Viper HS LR for my Remington 700 308 varmint rifle for long range bench shooting. Bought it on sale at P A and to tell you the truth for the price I did not expect much at all. You know as well as I you get what you pay for but in this case I am amazed at the clarity and quality of the scope if it had the XLR reticle I would leave it on the rifle but boy I am really looking forward to purchasing the Viper HS LR with the XLR reticle moor than ever. Verry impresed with this diamond back scope and will put it on my 7mm Mauser for hunting. Jeff Fitzpatrick

Wrote the most liked positive review. Im adding stuff

Comments about Vortex Optics Vortex Diamondback Rifle Scope:

Read my other review to be up to speed. I hunt and fish. Spend tons of time in the field.
The scope has been through the ringer. In all truthfulness I didn't expect the scope to last a year for the price point. Those that carry a rifle understand. The scope is usually the thing that goes first. This is because it sits higher on the rifle and everything on the planet true to get caught or wedged between the two. Its the thing that gets used as a carry handle in bad positions.
Bangs, knocks, drops, slips and scrapes. This scope has had it. The finish has worn off in most area's. I hunt with it so duracoat and spray paint are my friends. To give you perspective. I have been through 5+ hunting boots since I've bought the scope. The gun it's on is a 243 and the barrel has been set back a few times now due to throat wear. Why change a good thing right. I could open a museum with all the coyotes I've shot with it. Even had a second rabies scare from all the foxes I shoot. This scope has seen it all. I can't think of any scope that has lasted this long and taken this type of use. I own fixed power swfa scopes that have failed within the 6 month Mark. You guys or gals do what you like. I intend to buy a few more in case they discontinue the 3-9×40 bdc. It is worth every penny. If you are looking for a scope that can hold up. Be there when you need it. Buy this one. My actual rifle has needed more repair and maintenance.

Would absolutely recommend

Comments about Vortex Optics Vortex Diamondback Rifle Scope:

Did a lot of research before buying a new scope for my CZ455 and based on what I read, this was the only way to go; couldn't be happier. The CZ is a tack driver anyway, but the addition of this scope even better. I have the luxury of helping a friend on his property with the squirrel population. He is a nut farmer and to say he has a problem is a gross understatement. Have shot literally hundreds over the last 4 years with this combination. Have shot them from 10ft to over 100 yards with this combo and the squirrels don't have a chance.
As to the ruggedness, can best be explained with my clumsiness. Fell down twice in 1 day, slammed the gun down hard on opposite sides and the zero was still dead on (all pun intended!).
Looking to buy a new scope for my AR build and will definitely go with a Vortex (any coupons Vortex? ).

Excellent Scope for the Money

Comments about Vortex Optics Vortex Diamondback Rifle Scope:

Purchased this Scope to go on my Ruger American in .17 HMR after reading the reviews, plus I already have a Vortex Crossfire II 1-4x24 V-Brite mounted on a SigSaur AR-15 in 300 Blackout as a reference to the quality of Vortex Optics.

Vortex Products are great

Comments about Vortex Optics Vortex Diamondback Rifle Scope:

I mounted the scope on a 270 cal vanguard bore sighted. First shot bulls eye so was second and third. Can't ask for any better than that. Scope has great light and clarity.

Comments about Vortex Optics Vortex Diamondback Rifle Scope:

I use my vortex scope on my .270 Browning x-bolt and love it!! The scope is so clear and I love how easy I can adjust my shooting distance. I mainly use this scope for shooting white tailed deer and coyotes. I will definitely be buying a lot more products from vortex.

Big bang for the buck

Comments about Vortex Optics Vortex Diamondback Rifle Scope:

Cant beat this scope with anything in its price range. Draws more light than all of my buddies scopes (nikon bushnell) and crystal clear glass even at max power. Mounted on my .300 WBY, it handles the abuse of that gun perfectly.
