I am partial to scoped rifles for multiple uses. The 2-7x magnification works great for an Ar15 or other high velocity small caliber rounds but you could use it for whatever you like. This scope is clear, durable, and comparable to scopes that cost much more.
The Bdc reticle makes estimating longer
shots much easier and the instruction manuel included will show you how to use it. The turrets are nice but the clicks could be a little more positive. The scope holds zero very well and I havent had any issues. Its hard to complain when I got this scope for 120 dollars. Both the focus ring and magnification ring are smooth and easy to use in the field. My biggest issue is that the eye relief is fairly long in my experience compared to other rifle scopes but this is hardly an issue as the scope can be moved to suit your needs on whatever mount you are using. If you are reading this and considering a buy, do it because you wont find a better scope for the money anywhere else.

I bought this a while ago and mounted it on a 7mm magnum browning A-bolt. After a half a box of shells The windage and elevation knobs are so loose It simply won't dial in a hundred yard shot. I know Vortex will fix it for free but have not had the time to send it in as of yet. My suggestion is don't mount one on a magnum rifle. I plan to mount it on a .223 after its fixed under warranty. My first Vortex was in the 1,000 dollar range a viper FFP 6-24x50mm and was mounted on a .338 winchester magnum had ZERO problems with it so it may just be a fluke.

Nice Little Scope

By

Comments about Vortex Optics Vortex Crossfire II Rifle Scope:

I bought this scope 3 years ago, and put it on an AR-10. I was looking for a tough, light weight scope that would work for fairly close range but still let me reach out for some long shots. This scope fits the bill. It's not too heavy, has great eye relief, and the 4-12 zoom range is satisfactory. No complaints!

Great Scope for the Money!

By

Comments about Vortex Optics Vortex Crossfire II Rifle Scope:

This scope is a great scope for the money! I purchased this for a .243 Win I had that needed an optic. I wanted something that was durable yet not gonna break the bank account either. I did some searching on the internet and Vortex kept coming up in all the different searches and forums that showed up in the searches. I decided to give the Crossfire II a shot. I have to say that the clarity of the glass for an optic in this price range is incredible. Very Clear. I was surprised. I also like that the turrets are fingertip adjustable and accurate! Zeroing was a breeze and the zero has not shifted in several range trips. I am happy with this optic and anyone looking for a good optic when on a budget or for a good price, I wouldn't look past this one! You also cant beat the outstanding Warranty that Vortex offers! Great job Vortex and keep up the great work!

I use mine for varmint hunting during the day and at night. The light is draws in at low light conditions is amazing, the glass is crystal clear, and the detail is unmatched. This was my first vortex scope but I plan to fit all my rifles with this brand A+!!!

Best Optic at this price point

By

from Glennville, Georgia

Comments about Vortex Optics Vortex Crossfire II Rifle Scope:

Riflescopes (optics) are an often overlooked (but essential) consideration for your shooting / hunting package. I use one on a 20" Stoner Custom Rifle. I am not attempting to set shooting records. The Crossfire is just the best choice for this price point (under $200). The glass is very good, and bright. The turret caps are solid, and easily removed/replaced, allowing you access to the knurled (no tool / coin required) turrets, which are well marked. The turrets are labeled U-D / R-L, and 1 click=1/4 MOA. So it's impossible to get it wrong unless you aren't paying attention. The eye relief is outstanding. It's a very durable optic for your A/R or hunting rifle. If you are looking for longer ranges, Vortex has that product for you. It goes without saying that the Warranty is the best in the industry, and Vortex proves over and over again that they deserve your money, and loyalty. If you don't have a Vortex product, and you consider yourself a serious or knowledgeable shooter/hunter you need to try one. You won't regret it. I was introduced to Vortex by serious shooters (long range / shot show / vendors / knowledgeable dudes), and I am just passing that same good advice along to you.

Awesome Glass At A Bargain Price

By

from Alexandria, KY

Comments about Vortex Optics Vortex Crossfire II Rifle Scope:

I have a 6-18x44 AO Crossfire II with the v-brite reticle on top of a 17hmr. Overkill of a scope for the gun? Probably, but it actually works very well. This scope does just about everything you want a scope to do and it does it at an awesome price. It's held zero(I know it's on a rifle that basically doesn't recoil), the adjustments for windage and elevation are positive and appear to be repeatable, the AO works well, the clarity of glass for the money is great, and the 4" sunshade is a great bonus. Now the reason for the 4 stars is mainly because of light fuzziness or loss of focus at the highest magnification settings. That is really my only nitpick of the scope. The scope is still very usable at the highest magnification settings, but the little bit of fuzziness in the image is apparent for me. The bottom line is the amount of scope and magnification you get at this price with the bonus of AO and a sunshade is awesome! Vortex knows how to deliver on making great affordable optics.
