The Viper HD 12x50's are hands down the best bang for your $$$. I compared these to some swaros and granted there is a slight difference in low light conditions it did not warrant the extra price. That and in my home state it's illegal to shoot under those light conditions anyways. So, the main decision making point was the "warranty" and I must say it is an incredible one to boot... After using these beauties of craftsmanship and optics for both elk and deer hunts this year I must say with absolute certainty that the decision I made that day is one I will never regret. Thank you vortex for making a high end optics package available at a working mans price...........

Note I do not wear eyeglasses.

I recently purchased the Vortex Viper HD 6x32 and was really looking forward to owning them for a long time; however, upon taking them out for first light, I was quite disappointed.

I'm also very surprised no other reviewer had a similar issue as myself. The issue is that the eyecups for this model do not extend out far enough for that "ideal" viewpoint. The extremely long eye relief makes it very difficult to get a comfortable hold while viewing. (In the 6x32 case one has to suspend the binocular away from their face. The eyecups are all but useless.)

The lack of the extended eyecups creates "blackouts" because the eye isn't far enough away from the eyepiece. (You can simulate this by just twisting the eyecup down a step and attempting to look through the binocular.)

I had to return the Viper HD 6x32 as I just couldn't use them. I called Vortex CS and while the gentleman was considerate he wasn't all that helpful. Vortex should seriously consider selling an extended eyecup for this model.

Last year, I purchased the Viper HD 10x42 model and didn't have any issues. Since then, I've upgraded to the Razor HD 8x42 and 12x50 models.

I really hope Vortex considers a Razor HD 8x32 model in the near future.

Just received my new viper HD's and what can I say that VORTEX NATION doesn't already know! These are ridiculously clear, great glass let in tons of light in early morning/late evening situations perfect for my coues deer glassing and long range elk searching. I upgraded from my diamondback 12X50's ( had to save up $$ ) loved my diamondbacks but now my viper HDs are my new love! I tell all my hunt'n buddies buy what you can afford at the time, you can always upgrade later and don't purchase anything other than VORTEX, not only do they produce super quality product in every product line their warranty is something outta this world! #VortexNation4Life

Awesome product!

Comments about Vortex Optics Vortex 15x50 Viper HD Binoculars:

We deer and elk hunt every year. No matter what the terrain is like, these are my go-to binoculars. I have had the cabelas 10x42 and the Leopoldo majaves 10x42 and neither of them compare to the viper HD's. Extremely clear, fairly lightweight, and comfortable to use. Highly recommended! Well worth the money.

Best Binoculars Ever

By

Comments about Vortex Optics Vortex 15x50 Viper HD Binoculars:

I have owned these binoculars for about a year and they work really well. Way less expensive than Swarovski binoculars and a lot of other brands and the quality is just as good if not better. My girlfriend and her family has switched over to using just the Vortex brand also.

The best money I've ever spent.

Comments about Vortex Optics Vortex 15x50 Viper HD Binoculars:

I hunt elk, deer, yotes, antelope and pretty much anything else I can get a tag for in Utah, Wyoming, and Idaho.
The viper 10x50 binos are seriously the best I've ever seen especially during that magic hour at dusk and dawn when it's just barely light enough to see. My hunting buddy work's for the forest service and works with high end binoculars all the time and he was so impressed with my vipers he bit the bullet and got the exact same ones.

Never Leave Home Without Them!!!!!

By

Comments about Vortex Optics Vortex 15x50 Viper HD Binoculars:

I used the Viper HD for the first time last year in the field. Great light reception and I love the durability. I tossed them to my brother-in-law (ya what was I thinking!!) and they hit the ground hard. I thought they would have issues. Not So!! Wiped them off and still worked great.

Easy to hold steady and focus. Late season I had a dozen deer standing within 200 yds. Looking for a nice doe. Made it very easy to identify the one I wanted to harvest.

Awesome Investment!!!!

Excellent Glass

Comments about Vortex Optics Vortex 15x50 Viper HD Binoculars:

I used a pair of these on my last elk hunt and the glass on these binoculars are excellent. I also have a pair of leupold windriver and these have just as good if not better glass. Absolutely no issues with eye strain looking through them all day!

I Wish I Bought Them Years Ago

By

Comments about Vortex Optics Vortex 15x50 Viper HD Binoculars:

I've been using these binoculars for about a year now and love them. Whenever I'm out in the woods they are always with me. They are often times the first thing I pack. The tough rubber coating is great especially in Alaska when you're often times climbing on rough slick country. They are extremely grippy even when wet and cold. I've used these binoculars when predator hunting at -35F in Alaska and scouting Mule deer in Colorado on 90F days and they always perform flawlessly! The clarity bubble and FOV are both very large and focusing these binos is extremely easy. It's just a quick turn. I don't find myself spinning the wheel like crazy like I did with my older Binoculars. The weight is just perfect and hardly noticeable especially with a good bino harness. I often times use the tripod adapter to glass and then when I want to get in a little closer I drop my Razor spotting scope in and it lines up perfectly. If you do any glassing I would highly recommend picking these up along with the tripod adapter. I don't find my eyes straining even when glassing for long periods of time. The 42mm objectives let in a great deal of light even better than most 50mm I've used. I have no problem glassing for moose early in the morning or late at night. Bottom line I would highly recommend these binoculars.

Best bang for your buck

Comments about Vortex Optics Vortex 15x50 Viper HD Binoculars:

I have owned these for almost a year now. Vortex is top of the line with the clearest glass. Why over pay for other brands, when you can get just as good of binoculars from vortex. The glass is clean and super clear. It amazes me overtime I look through them. You will never need to buy another pair of binoculars.

Best Binoculars for the money hands down!

By

from Pe

Comments about Vortex Optics Vortex 15x50 Viper HD Binoculars:

The 10x42 Viper HD binocular is the best binocular for that amount of money. I got mine for less than list price but they're worth MSRP. These are clear tough and well made. They're a great product and built to last. I compared them to several binoculars up to the $1200 range I couldn't really tell much difference except when I compared them to the Vortex Razor HD which has earned itself a spot on my wish list.

If you want super clear glass, get these binos. At dawn and dusk these are the best binos I have looked through, I mean the best. And guess what, they are made in JAPAN!
