The Viper HD 12x50's are hands down the best bang for your $$$. I compared these to some swaros and granted there is a slight difference in low light conditions it did not warrant the extra price. That and in my home state it's illegal to shoot under those light conditions anyways. So, the main decision making point was the "warranty" and I must say it is an incredible one to boot... After using these beauties of craftsmanship and optics for both elk and deer hunts this year I must say with absolute certainty that the decision I made that day is one I will never regret. Thank you vortex for making a high end optics package available at a working mans price...........

Note I do not wear eyeglasses.

I recently purchased the Vortex Viper HD 6x32 and was really looking forward to owning them for a long time; however, upon taking them out for first light, I was quite disappointed.

I'm also very surprised no other reviewer had a similar issue as myself. The issue is that the eyecups for this model do not extend out far enough for that "ideal" viewpoint. The extremely long eye relief makes it very difficult to get a comfortable hold while viewing. (In the 6x32 case one has to suspend the binocular away from their face. The eyecups are all but useless.)

The lack of the extended eyecups creates "blackouts" because the eye isn't far enough away from the eyepiece. (You can simulate this by just twisting the eyecup down a step and attempting to look through the binocular.)

I had to return the Viper HD 6x32 as I just couldn't use them. I called Vortex CS and while the gentleman was considerate he wasn't all that helpful. Vortex should seriously consider selling an extended eyecup for this model.

Last year, I purchased the Viper HD 10x42 model and didn't have any issues. Since then, I've upgraded to the Razor HD 8x42 and 12x50 models.

I really hope Vortex considers a Razor HD 8x32 model in the near future.

Buying my clients a loaner pair

By

from San Manuel Texas

Comments about Vortex Optics Vortex 15x50 Viper HD Binoculars:

Boy vortex you made a believer out of me. Your vortex viper 8/42 binoculars have proven to be the best binocular that I have ever tried. As a full time hunting guide for San Ranch Guided hunts in Deep South Texas I have looked through many pairs of binos and yours are just the best iv tried. Low light conditions on long senderos with shadows are the true test for optics and your binoculars and scopes have proven to be the best around. My clients and staff all agree that vortex optics is the best bang for your buck after using my vortex binoculars. Thanks for the many memories that me and my clients have made using vortex optics.

Great on a tripod

Comments about Vortex Optics Vortex 15x50 Viper HD Binoculars:

Many hours spent behind these, they were the first hd glass I owned and used them for a long time. I eventually upgraded to the razor hd's but not for lack of quality. They are definitely delivering more value then their cost. Not to mention super light weight for a 15x50 glass.

Comments about Vortex Optics Vortex 15x50 Viper HD Binoculars:

Bought these a couple of years back, they are clear & well worth the money. My only compliant is the eye pieces after some time get loose and will need to be sent in for repairs.

Best Binos I've used

By

Comments about Vortex Optics Vortex 15x50 Viper HD Binoculars:

So my best experience with these was seeing an antelope three miles away and still tell the leg motions. They are clear and not near as heavy as others with similar magnification and clarity. Highly recommend them.

First Set of Quality Glass. Exceeded All Expectations.

By

from Stillwater, MN

Comments about Vortex Optics Vortex 15x50 Viper HD Binoculars:

After spending my first few hunting seasons in the woods of Minnesota with cheap glass, I decided to take a step up. The difference is truly staggering. My glassing doesn't consist of the endless landscape and hillsides of the Western US, but it does require a level of clarity and low light performance for deer season. These binos are more than up to the task. Glassing 30 minutes before sunrise, I could easily count antlers more than 100 yards away, even through thick trees and brush.

I followed this purchase with a Viper HS 2.5-10x44 for my .270, and the performance is just as good. Going from cloudy, milky glass to crystal clarity gives me a level of confidence that I never had before.

Hands Down the Best Bang for Your Buck

By

from SW Montana

Comments about Vortex Optics Vortex 15x50 Viper HD Binoculars:

I've used this bino for all sorts of things. I'm mainly a mountain hunter and have spent hours behind them in the field. While I'd love to be able to afford some of the higher end stuff, that's not the case. With a killer clarity to price point ratio, these are hands down the best I could find. Coupled with the No BS warranty, I'm not sure how you can go wrong. If you're on the fence about these and they're in your price range, I can't recommend them enough. Great brightness throughout the day and during the times when it matters - sunrise and sunset. I don't leave home without them and definitely won't go in the mountains without them. Kudos Vortex.

See what you're missing...

Comments about Vortex Optics Vortex 15x50 Viper HD Binoculars:

For years I hunted Coues deer with a cheaper pair of 12x and thought they were fine. I got a set of these as a gift and I saw 3x as many bucks as before! The clarity was impressive when compared to binos which didn't cost much less. I glassed up this buck at 1600 yards! Sorry if picture looks poor, held cell phone to binos, and then cropped photo for the sight. I would have never been able to see antler at that range with my old binos.

Awesome binos!!!

By

from Bozeman, MT

Comments about Vortex Optics Vortex 15x50 Viper HD Binoculars:

I have owned these binos for over four years now and I love them. I spend a lot of time behind the glass, and quality binos are worth the money. Even though these are not as nice as the Razors, I love them. They are hard to beat for the price point. My only complaint: I have broke the eye cups twice when having them all the way out, but with the VIP warranty they were fixed and returned quickly at no charge.

I encourage everyone to try out these binos. You won't be disappointed.
