I mostly bought these shoes because SW was having a sale on them. I've taken them all different types of terrain from icy trails, to steep mountains with 3 ft. of powder. They have performed exceptionally well. Traction could be an issue if it was an icy incline. I have taken it up steep inclines and have not had too big of a problem. I would slip a few times, but it was nothing to be concerned about. Overall, I was extremely impressed and happy with my purchase.
