Matt of Kitsap, WA - October, 05 2015:

What started as a great experience has ended terribly. Bought this pack for Western hunting where it would serve as a daypack and haul a trip of meat out until I could switch to the pack-frame. It worked well as a daypack (less the 30 pounds) and the overall design and function was appealing. Wasn't until I got a bull elk down that I ran into problems. We were six miles from the truck, three by foot and three by mountain bike. Put one hindquarter in the pack and I could not get it to seat/ride well on my back. With all the strap tight and the top cheater straps down the internal frame dug into my lower back. Tried to adjust the pack multiple times but all I can conclude is the pack was not designed for heavy weight and the lower lip of the frame board continually dug into my spine. Ended up sporting a bruise across my lower back from that one trip, once we got back to the truck I switched to my meat hauling frame and life was good for the next three trips. What really fried me was the customer service, after two weeks I have only received the automated response, never once have I been contacted by a real person at Plano Molding. Guess you have to be a Pro Staffer or have a TV show to get their attention. If you are hunting within a mile of your truck and just packing a lunch I guess this pack will work well, but for Western mountain hunting and packing out meat this pack is an absolute failure. If I can't return this pack it's going up for sale.

Brett of Clearfield, UT - May, 29 2012:

This pack is super lightweight. I never liked how heavy most hunting packs were. I took this pack out of a long day hike over the weekend. I learned a few key things about it. First, it had a ton of straps, and they all have a good use. the 2220 will fit like a glove it you have everything adjusted right. The most important straps are the load lifters at the top of the shoulder straps. they are what helped me the most. I'm excited to try out the gun boot. I'd like to see how well that works.

I have only had the daypack for one day but i am very impressed with the quality of the pack.I have worn it on several short hikes and even fully loaded i hardly noticed i had it on my back. The pack distributes the load weight well.It is a little pricey but you get what you pay for. While i am not into hunting the pack is ideal for a all day photo-shoot.If there is a sudden downpour, the water proof cover will protect your expensive equipment.I looked at many photo- daypacks before deciding on the Tenzing TZ 2220.A lot of them were more expensive than the Tenzing, and not nearly as versatile. The shipping was very fast, only two days in this case.Whatever you use it for, this is probably the best daypack out there at any price

A bit pricey, but worth the expense. Comfortable, zippers run well and it'll hold more than you really want to carry. Stapped by bow to it and hiked the 2012 archery elk season in Colorado high country and never felt uncomfortable

David of Bend, OR - June, 06 2013:

I got this pack for some late season elk hunting. Its fit is amazing. The contour of the shoulder straps and hip belt keep everything in place and close to your body. Ive packed it pretty full and never got sore spots. The only thing Id change is to remove the gun holster pocket. I don't need it. Packs a bow great.

John of Riverton, UT - July, 25 2013:

I have had this pack for a year now and it is by far my favorite day pack. I have loaded this thing up with 50 lbs of predator calls, decoys, shooting sticks, DSLR camera and more and it has always been up to the challenge. Only thing that sucked was when I accidentally left some deet covered wipes in the pack and it partially ate away at some of the materials!!! My fault though for being careless. I love the rifle/bow carrier strap and have used it many many times and works quite well.
