I've bought fly rods that triple the cost of this rod. But i can honestly say this rod feels and performs wonderfully. It has the same lifetime warranty that my high end rods do. It also has a true medium fast action, which i like because i can still shoot a fly line if needed, or i can open up my loops a little bit for a softer presentation!

This rod is great! The action is a little slower than my other rods, so it doesn't beat the wind as good, but it makes a really nice presentation. It comes with a rod tube as well, which is very nice.

St. Croix sure makes a great product and this rod is no exception. The Imperial is more of a moderate fast action rod and feels more like a traditional action that many fly anglers prefer. It is not stiff like many of the modern fast action rods that the industry has been coming out with. Lightweight, great lifetime warranty, and casts wonderfully. Great all around rod especially for lighter tippets and dries.
