Smith & Wesson Black Ops Spring Assisted Knives - It can be hard to find a quality assisted opening knife for less than $50, but Smith & Wesson has pulled it off. The SWBLOP series of knives offers a great bang-for-the-buck, in a rugged assisted opening knife. The black coated 4034 stainless steel blade holds an edge well but isn't hard to sharpen when the time comes. To open, all you need to do is push on one of the ambidextrous thumb studs a little bit. The assist spring takes over, and just like that the blade is open and locked with a tough liner lock mechanism. The knives also feature a handle mounted safety to make sure the knife only opens when you want it to, and a pocket clip to keep it within reach.
