These glasses completely blew me away. I have never splurged on buying nice glasses in the past and I am so glad I did. These glasses came with two lenses which help me get through any condition snow or sun!!
The arena max is the best large format riding glasses ou there. I now have five pairs!! The frames on these glasses seem to cling much better to your head when you are leaned over on the drops. Great glasses...non better.
I have a large nose which makes many sunglass shapes sit too high on my face. Smith Arena Max have the two position nose piece that fits larger nose shapes and keeps these sunnies from sitting too high on the face. Good lense change Lightweight solid case (a bit large tho) fits well with helmets stylish
I have been a long time user of other brands. Not sure what the Smith product line was like but I saw the PivLock Arena and it married up to what I need. Frameless top is huge plus as I do a lot bent over work on bars or drops. Good field of vision. Even with the heavy sweat from the deep heat this summer, it was not nearly as much of a problem as with a frame glass I used in the past. I use a lighter lens cause of changing ride conditions. Go from light to dark and shadows so heavy sunshine might be a lot on the lighter lens but that is my choice. A darker lens cures that. They are light and versatile. Nose piece is comfortable. Stays in place on head and doesn't bind temples. Very much recommend.
Don't be another guy/girl with Radar Locks. These are more comfortable, look better and are less expensive. Buys these. Do it.
I've used these on a daily basis for the last year, and can say I have no complaints. Lens changing is far and away the easiest I've dealt with, and it's great to have the different lenses available for varied days in the mountains. The Pivlock's are super comfortable, great quality, and extremely lightweight. Never had any problems fogging, and the rimless design is great for unobstructed vision. It's one of those pieces of gear that's great because they do their job so well, allowing you to focus on the fun.
I have worn Smiths for 20 years now and the Arena is the most comfortable pair I have owned thus far. For a smaller face the Arena is just about perfect in terms of offering good peripherals but not feeling too large. The styling is great for mountain biking, they are super light weight, have comfortable nose pads and are perfectly balanced to wear for long periods of time. I was however, extremely disappointed that they only came with 2 lenses. For years Smith has included 3 sets of lenses, since the first pair of Sliders that I got back in 1996 until just earlier this spring they all included, a hi light, a low light and a clear lens. Guess what? The most recent pair did not include a clear lens. As a mountain biker there are times when its dark in the woods and a clear lens is all that makes sense. In addition, while fat biking at night in the winter I rely on a clear lens. I was pretty disappointed in Smith's decision to pull the clear lens after 20 years of including it. Overall, great glasses just not happy with the lens option change.
I use these for mountain biking so far they are great. I have a smaller face and was concerned they would be too big, but they fit well.
The PivLock Arena sunglasses are great. They are very light weight and fit very well. The thing I like the most is the unrestricted vision all around resulting from the lack of a frame to limit vision. The super platinum lens are perfect for sunny mornings. The lenses are very easy to switch out. I've already used the brown lens provided during a ride on an overcast day they worked great. These sunglasses a very reasonably priced for the quality, lightweight and multiple lens that come with them
Light, never fog, forget they are even there! I will never ride with out these! However, they are for smaller faces, and best for road riding, they do not cover the lower part of my face and will let mud hit me in the eye offroad. For MTB, get the Arena Max.
