The essence fc 9' 4wt. This is a moderate fast action rod. The rod loads easily and shoots line well. I was impressed with the ability to hold a significant amount of line in the air with this rod. I feel this rod will make an excelent dry fly rod as the action tends to lend to a slightly larger loop with a softer landing effect than faster rods I have cast while still providing the ability for cast in excess of 80'.

For the price you cant beat this rod. The 4 piece 9 foot is ideal for bigger rivers and lakes because of it casting ability and still lets you feel every bit of the fight the fish has. Ive caught 22 inch trout and 12 inch trout on this rod and enjoyed every minute. If you dont have a 4 weight, you gotta pick this one up.
