Got one ON SALE at SW last week - for $24.99 - a good price.
My comments and "Bottom Line" recommendation reflect this PLANO case AT THAT PRICE, not the "regular" price of $44.99 .
This case does a good job of transporting two long guns - with scopes - from home to range and back. Thin plastic construction; but sturdy enough for that sort of use. Interior foam should be spot-tacked to case shell, with adhesive spray or double-sided tape.
Case can be "Locked" to meet certain mandatory "Government Requirements"; but as so many such PC efforts (Think: TSA, "Gun free zones", etc. . .) the actual security of these lockpoints are mostly cosmetic - or even theatrical in nature.
I secure my firearms in a locked gun safe; and use this PLANO case only for transport, as mentioned above.
Very cheaply made! I've tolerated it for a couple years but it never opens right and it's not very sturdy at all. I would rather use my 8 dollar soft case most of the time.
This case is excellent for storage or light-duty transport. I would not attempt to use it for airline travel -- it's too easy to open. The lining foam is cut to a maximum size and loose in the case (a top and bottom piece). I used scissors to cut it slightly undersize and used 3M spray adhesive to attach the back of the foam sheets to the inside of the case shells -- perfect fit and secure.
Pretty cheaply made, it does the job and gets my rifles to and from the range or field. Foam inside doesn't fit quite right and always seems to fall out when you open the case.
Great inexpensive way to trasport 2 rifles to the range and out to the field
