Mountain House Freeze Dried Breakfast Food - Pack light. Eat right. Just because you're traveling deep within the backcountry without the luxury of refrigeration doesn't mean you have to sacrifice succulent, hearty meals.
Mountain House Freeze Dried Breakfast Food - Simply open, pour in boiling water, and zip. This is also a great option when you need to round out your Emergency Preparedness package with a hearty breakfast to keep you going. Just throw a couple in your 72-hour kit, add hot water and enjoy if it is ever needed.
Freeze-drying and packaging remove both water and oxygen - the two primary causes of food deterioration. Freeze-dried foods have 98% of their water removed. This reduces the food's weight by about 90%. Freeze-dried foods, like frozen, retain virtually all their fresh-food taste and nutritional content. Freeze-dried foods maintain their original shape and texture, unlike dehydrated foods. Products are immediately packed in a unique moisture and oxygen-barrier packaging to preserve the food's flavor, texture, color, and nutrients. To "double" ensure freshness and prevent the food from turning rancid, an oxygen scavenger packet is placed in each pouch. The oxygen scavenger consists of iron oxide, which absorbs oxygen within the pouch. This product is not harmful to your health, but is not meant to be eaten

i'm impressed with Mtn House foods. they are very easy to prepare and the flavor quality was very acceptable. Good food with lots of carbs.Justin of Palmer, AK - July, 14 2011:
This is one of my favorite breakfast style mountain house products. Just be sure to add less water than the bag indicates, otherwise your oatmeal will be swimming! The granola isn't too dry and the blueberries actually taste like blueberries. Good start to a day.Brian of Magna, UT - April, 20 2012:
Scrambled Eggs w/ Ham and peppers - I would go a little less on the water. Fast and easy to make, good taste, high in protein. Great way to start the day.Andrew of Holladay, UT - September, 28 2012:
The granola was good! Also really liked the eggs with bacon - like the other reviewers said - start with a little less water so your eggs aren't swimming.
