This is a great design, built well, and priced fairly. I have used these bases for decades, and sold and mounted dozens to experienced hunters and shooters. The design allows for windage to be adjusted at the base if you want to keep your scope's windage adjusted near zero. The steel bridge base can only strengthen the rifle and scope, creating a solid, durable, and reliable sighting system. Trust them and enjoy the results!

Purchased the STD Savage 10 RH-SA Round Rcvr 1-pc for my Savage 10 and the base doesn't fit gun. The slot cut in the base to follow the rifle's ejection port is cut too short so that the base extends about 3/4" over the rear of the ejection port. The base also only utilizes one screw at the rear whereas the rifle's receiver is tapped for two screws at the front and two screws at the rear. Overall, the base works sufficiently. I just wish that a model specific design actually fit the model.

AB3 BASES

By

from Undisclosed

Comments about Leupold QRW Base:

This is a FYI not necessarily a complaint for the most part I've always been satisfied with my Leupold products. So i recently purchased a NIB AB3 with DD bases along with some standard rings for another rifle. First problem the standard rings were missing two screws which was an easy fix... Second issue was when trying to install the DD bases on AB3 the mounting screws turned and went nowhere, wrong size... So returned first set got another set and SAME problem. Screws are listed as #8's but look smaller, holes in receiver look like #10's. So I don't know if Leupold or Browning has an issue.

Most of the People most of the time.

Comments about Leupold QRW Base:

I've been using Leupold mounting systems for over 40 years and have yet to have a problem. I have mixed and matched with other brands such as Milett for certain looks and applications but I have never had a problem with any of them. After reading review after review I have come to a very old but simple conclusion. "You can please most of the people most of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time".. No company or product is perferct. Sooner or later we will make an imperfection. However, if one wants to be perfectly honest they would have to admit that these guys come as close to perfect as you can get. I have never had to scratch my head to figure out how to mount the mounts or rings. They make it so easy a cave man could do it. As for tech support, they have a team that is second to none. I have found that if you are one of those individuals that is confused about how to install one of their mounting systems, maybe you shouldn't own a firearm or anything with a sharp edge. Just saying. So, all that being said and after insulting a few people, I give Leupold a 10. A 5 just isn't good enough. Thank you Leupold for all the years of great product and my many many thousands of pounds of game in my freezer over the years.

bought these to mount my nikon scope to my omega.

Comments about Leupold QRW Base:

So when I started to put the scope on the rings & half way tighten the rings to set my scope I noticed that it scared the side of my scope. I have a nikon realtree xr muzzeloader scope 3x9x40. Then I noticed that the scope would not fit all the way to the bottom of the rings, there was a gap & if I would have tighten it all the way I really would have had a mess. My scope is a 1 inch & I made sure the rings were straight on the base which is a leupold base for the omega. I have all leupold bases & rings on all my guns & never had this problem.

Problems with DD mounting base

By

from West Coast

Comments about Leupold QRW Base:

Problem with mounting bases, Léopold Mark V DD REV FRONT. Got a New Weatherby MARK V ultra lightweight .308, bought DD rev front bases, and the rear base (at bolt) is markedly thicker than the front (toward muzzle), creating of course a large (-) elevation, which makes new LEUPOLD MK 6 3-18 scope off by 20 mrads of elevation (laser pointer 20 mrads above crosshairs) and only 5 mrads of adjustment available to adjust downward. These bases seem to be a mismatch for the Whby rifle for which they are marketed. Do I need a shim on front base? Another product that has zero elevation? Did I mount these incorrectly? Thanks for your help.

Standard Leupold Mounts and Rings

By

from Idaho

Comments about Leupold QRW Base:

I was looking for Kimber part number and got to reading some of these reviews. I have used these mounts/rings as well as others since I was 16.I am 55 now. I have broke one set at the rear in 39 years as well as the VXII 3-9 rear bell went flying. When the scope and rifle broke my fall(so to speak)elk hunting and I slipped from 10 feet up in a creek waterfall. Leupold replaced the rings/mounts and repaired the scope for a minor cost(relative). The windage screws on these are very valuable for centering a scope, before a adjustment knob is even touched. The front twist in dovetail secures the torque from firing while the rear keeps the scope centered. These set ups work fine on most rifles up to 375H&H and 458WM.I have owned them both.338WM has a sharper recoil(relative)Where I have not used these is in a application that requires a 20MOA rail or any Savage(without extended rings). Savage uses a long action I have found at least on my guns in Accustock LA or any of the Axis models. Savage should come with a Picatinny rail to space rings for scopes properly or notify buyers of their firearms. Some of the guns, these are on I have owned for 30 plus years and have kept zeroed.I just did a fact check and have them installed on 67 different rifles. Like the selection of rifles out there. This mount/ring system may not be for everyone. Now.Back to the Kimber mount.I just got the Hunter model in 7mm Ackley Imp.

Mounting problems

By

from Malaga, WA, United States

Comments about Leupold QRW Base:

Last fall I purchased a new Nosler 28 rifle and bought a 3x18 Leupold Scope to compliment it. I also purchased rings and dovetail bases. I have used your products for many years and mounted many scopes. This time I ran into trouble with the mounts. 3 of the four screws stripped out before I applied any tork to them. So I am sitting here without a way to mount a scope. I guarantee they were not over tightened. I need 3 good screws to finish the job before hunting season. I will send screws for analysis if you would like. Does your warrantee cover replacement of screws or do I have to purchase another mount to get the screws needed. Poor customer service if I do.

Provides accuracy and exceded my expectations

By

from SW Florida

Comments about Leupold QRW Base:

IO own several of these QR mounts for various rifles. a BLR, Vintage Winchester 70's, and Savage 16.'s . I mount and tune in my scopes with a rifle vise, bubble level, and collimator. Never had to realign the monuts or rings usi9ng the Leupold QR system, and the ability to travel, o\protect my scopes from baggage apes as well as be able to switch to iron or another scope in the field without a significant change in impact is valuable in and by itself. Made of steel, one caveat. clean with brass or regular toothbrush and plastic pick but do not over oil the mounts. A sparingly used silicone cloth is what I use and find it works wonders on the accompanying ring posts for a well lubricated yet solid remount.
