This is a great design, built well, and priced fairly. I have used these bases for decades, and sold and mounted dozens to experienced hunters and shooters. The design allows for windage to be adjusted at the base if you want to keep your scope's windage adjusted near zero. The steel bridge base can only strengthen the rifle and scope, creating a solid, durable, and reliable sighting system. Trust them and enjoy the results!

At first I thought it was a clever idea, in short order, however, I learned a T-15 with a near 1/16 inch slot cut through the middle of it, leaves no room for error, especially when you try to achieve the recommended torque of 45 in lbs. After mangling the T-15 pocket, on both sides – I resorted to the old standby to finish the job. To that I would say, if it's not broke don't fix it - but you broke it...so please fix it. Two (2) suggestions, and the first being my preference: 1) Lose the T-15 and widen the slot to the old design (feel free to warranty to me 2 new screws like this in silver) or; 2) lose the slot, and go to a T-25 or larger. Never together, new wine in old wineskin sort of thing.

Otherwise, I found the other improvements to be good; the pre-lubed dovetail on both base and ring, and the Nylok patch on the screw threads. And I'm ok with the Leupold "L" embossed on the top of the rings.

Recommend inexpensive means to mounting a scope - don't bother with the T-15 in windage screws.

Mounted my VX-2 2-7x33 to my .416 Rem. Mag.

By

Comments about Leupold QRW Base:

I used these bases and appropriate rings to mount my VX-2 2-7x33 to my Winchester Model 70 Super Express chambered in .416 Rem. Mag.. They have held together well and have not come loose. Even under the brutal recoil of the .416 using 400 gr. Solids. The scope returns to an acceptable zero (within an inch @ 100 yards) on this rifle. However, the may return to complete zero on less recoiling rifle.

AB3 BASES

By

from Undisclosed

Comments about Leupold QRW Base:

This is a FYI not necessarily a complaint for the most part I've always been satisfied with my Leupold products. So i recently purchased a NIB AB3 with DD bases along with some standard rings for another rifle. First problem the standard rings were missing two screws which was an easy fix... Second issue was when trying to install the DD bases on AB3 the mounting screws turned and went nowhere, wrong size... So returned first set got another set and SAME problem. Screws are listed as #8's but look smaller, holes in receiver look like #10's. So I don't know if Leupold or Browning has an issue.

Most of the People most of the time.

By

Comments about Leupold QRW Base:

I've been using Leupold mounting systems for over 40 years and have yet to have a problem. I have mixed and matched with other brands such as Milett for certain looks and applications but I have never had a problem with any of them. After reading review after review I have come to a very old but simple conclusion. "You can please most of the people most of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time".. No company or product is perferct. Sooner or later we will make an imperfection. However, if one wants to be perfectly honest they would have to admit that these guys come as close to perfect as you can get. I have never had to scratch my head to figure out how to mount the mounts or rings. They make it so easy a cave man could do it. As for tech support, they have a team that is second to none. I have found that if you are one of those individuals that is confused about how to install one of their mounting systems, maybe you shouldn't own a firearm or anything with a sharp edge. Just saying. So, all that being said and after insulting a few people, I give Leupold a 10. A 5 just isn't good enough. Thank you Leupold for all the years of great product and my many many thousands of pounds of game in my freezer over the years.

bought these to mount my nikon scope to my omega.

By

from Indiana, United States

Comments about Leupold QRW Base:

So when I started to put the scope on the rings & half way tighten the rings to set my scope I noticed that it scared the side of my scope. I have a nikon realtree xr muzzeloader scope 3x9x40. Then I noticed that the scope would not fit all the way to the bottom of the rings, there was a gap & if I would have tighten it all the way I really would have had a mess. My scope is a 1 inch & I made sure the rings were straight on the base which is a leupold base for the omega. I have all leupold bases & rings on all my guns & never had this problem.

Will not fit my Kimber 84m

These mounts will not fit my new Kimber 84M in .243 cal classic select. Although they will bolt on, the rear mount extends to far back and interferes with the bolt.

Problems with DD mounting base

By

from West Coast

Comments about Leupold QRW Base:

Problem with mounting bases, Léopold Mark V DD REV FRONT. Got a New Weatherby MARK V ultra lightweight .308, bought DD rev front bases, and the rear base (at bolt) is markedly thicker than the front (toward muzzle), creating of course a large (-) elevation, which makes new LEUPOLD MK 6 3-18 scope off by 20 mrads of elevation (laser pointer 20 mrads above crosshairs) and only 5 mrads of adjustment available to adjust downward. These bases seem to be a mismatch for the Whby rifle for which they are marketed. Do I need a shim on front base? Another product that has zero elevation? Did I mount these incorrectly? Thanks for your help.
