Reading reviews and looking at comparisons online between binoculars have their place and time, and trust me, I spent a lot of time looking over data. When it came down to it I looked at the Leupold BX-3 Mojave Pro Guide HD 10-42mm vs Vortex Viper HD 10x42mm I was going to be non partial when looking at a new pair of binoculars, I wanted to ensure the product I was getting was going to fit my preferences for hunting as well as be functional. The salesman at the store was promoting the Vortex line heavily - supporting their warranty. He brought out the Vortex Viper HD 10-42mm and I viewed both light and dark images at close and far range, I was impressed with the field of view and clarity. I must say, I did not notice the "tunnel vision" or black edges as I did with other models when I was narrowing down to these two. A nice look and aesthetically a great pair of binoculars. I did notice the focus dials a little less stiff for my liking though. I then asked to view the Leupold BX-3 Mojave Pro Guide HD 10-42mm. Right away without question the ergonomics and feel outperformed the Vipers. Equally as good was the ability to bring up comfortably to the eye and find a full field of view right away. I did notice the Pro Guide color to be heightened in both low and high light conditions. I would say clarity was slightly better as well, but this is not to place down the Vipers as it was an excellent product as well. Also for the amount of time I carry binoculars in the field the size / weight of the Pro Guides makes the most sense. After a practical test and using 20 min of the sellers time, I confidently chose the Leupold and am very pleased. If you are ever deciding on any hunting product, stay away from listening to others views, comments, reviews, marketing etc - this is your hard earned money and the number one person that needs to be satisfied is you - go in person and line up your picks side by side.

Leupold stands behind their product

Comments about Leupold BX-3 Mojave Binoculars - Mossy Oak Treestand:

My Acadia binoculars were about 5 years old. When I was out elk hunting this year in the rain and snow storm one of the plastic rings beneath the eyepiece was loose. After that there was always a yellow and blue haze around the field of view. I sent them in to be repaired and less than a month later I received a brand new pair of binoculars in the mail. That is the first time I have ever had a problem with any of my optics. And that is why every rifle scope and every pair of binoculars in my home are made by Leupold. There are not many companies these days who stand behind their products. I will continue to be a customer for life.

Comments about Leupold BX-3 Mojave Binoculars - Mossy Oak Treestand:

Just purchased these BX-2 Acadia Binoculars. So far they are very impressive, except for the front caps.....They are not designed very well for the quality one would expect from the Leupold Brand....losing them could be an issue. Not secured very well on the product.....

Couldn't be Happier

Comments about Leupold BX-3 Mojave Binoculars - Mossy Oak Treestand:

This is my first pair of quality binoculars and I couldn't be happier. I looked at many different models and manufacturers when deciding on what binocular I wanted to buy. In the end I kept coming back to the Mojave Pro guides because of the optical quality as well as the reliability of the Leupold name. I have used these quite a bit and the clarity of the optics is amazing. The details you are able to see with these is absolutely incredible. They are absolutely crystal clear with no blurriness to the image and the colors are deep and vivid. The open bridge body makes the binoculars very lightweight and they are balanced very well. I love how small and compact they are for being a full size 8 by 42 binocular. Overall I am extremely happy with these binoculars and would definately recommend them.

Comments about Leupold BX-3 Mojave Binoculars - Mossy Oak Treestand:

I bought these binoculars and used them hunting recently. The clarity is phenomenal and was able to see with almost total darkness. The light from the moon gives enough light to see through them... I'm very pleased with them and would recommend them to anyone...

Outstanding product and even better service!

Comments about Leupold BX-3 Mojave Binoculars - Mossy Oak Treestand:

About two weeks ago my original Acadia binoculars fell about 30ft out of my stand. Hoping for the best I picked them up but to no surprise they busted. With one call to Leupold and a small amount of postage I received my new bx-2 Acadias in the mail. I had my original Acadias for 4 years and they were clear as a bell to their last day. The bx-2 I can already tell are an even better quality glass and more ergonomically designed which makes them much more comfortable in the hand. Regardless of the quality craftsmanship that go into this equipment the customer service is second to none. There were no questions asked, only their garuntee on their product! Outstanding products from outstanding people!!! 5 star company!!!

Comments about Leupold BX-3 Mojave Binoculars - Mossy Oak Treestand:

I bought my BX-3 about three years ago and have been very pleased. Along with the straps to wear on my chest I use these for deer hunting west of Kerrville, hogs near Gonzales, alligators at Brazos Bend State Park and at football games.

Comments about Leupold BX-3 Mojave Binoculars - Mossy Oak Treestand:

I dropped a pair of 5 year old binos out of my side by side while scouting and cracked the center pivot piece. Sent them in and they were replaced with a new pair with no questions asked. I will never own any other optic because if this warranty it is the best.

Warranty support

Comments about Leupold BX-3 Mojave Binoculars - Mossy Oak Treestand:

A victim of an unfortunate fire that totally destroyed my UTV and 4 yr old BX-3's. I can't say enough good things about the warranty support that Leupold gave me with their total replacement of exactly the same binoculars I had purchased 4 years earlier and absolutely loved. All they required was the shipment of the remains which were obviously beyond repair to provide full replacement. I call that going above and beyond and just another reason to buy Leupold in my opinion.

Excellent clarity, brightness, and ergonomics

By

from California, United States

Comments about Leupold BX-3 Mojave Binoculars - Mossy Oak Treestand:

One handed operation of these binoculars is so easy and smooth. At ranges below PRO: 400 yards I can easily hold the image steady with one hand and make out most details. The diopter, for adjusting the R eye focus, is very well designed and easy to set but also is not easy to accidentally change. Focusing with the index finger while holding the binos with one hand is very easy and ergonomic. I do not notice any visual distortion at the periphery of view. Light transmission is stellar and clarity is outstanding. CON: The plastic covers that come with these binoculars fall off easily and are loud. The objective lens covers fall off and the top eye shield makes noise when they are not covering the eye cups, if tied to the bino. I lost an objective cover first day in the field and replace the eye cup cover wth a softer rubber cover from another pair of binos.
