Very thick and warm sleeping bag. The problem for me was that the zipper on the side is only about 16-18 inches long. This is probably for warmth but it really makes getting in and out of the bag very difficult. If I had realized that it on had such a short zipper I would never have purchased the bag.
This is I think the bag I have!! the one I have is a great bag warm, pack small, the only thing is that it dosen't have any way to zip it all the way up because there is no zipper pull on the inside! other then that it a great bag.
Bag is comfortable, Zippers stick a little, rebagging is a bear. Forget being neat with it and just start jamming handfuls into the compression sack. I have one bag snap that pulls apart instead of locking together. Compression sack seems flimsy. otherwise a good value.
this review is for the -40 version of this mummy bag- this bag is great, well made, sturdy and comfortable at the same time. i slept outdoors in it under the open sky in 15-20 degree weather, with a bit of wind and flurries flying around, and i stayed perfectly warm all night. was only wearing a pair of pants and t-shirt and no socks in order to test the bag. it worked very well. bag is prob too thick for easy storage if backpacking much, but for cold weather, this bag seems pretty darn good.
I bought this bag because of it's size and other customer ratings. I'm 6'3" and "big boned" if you will, so when I say that I have TONS of room I mean it. This bag is very lightweight and packs compact for the size and warmth it provides. Be prepared to unzip the bottom zipper so you can stick a leg out and cool off when camping in the warmer climates of the rated comfort zone. Well made and very worth what I paid for it. I expect to get good use out of it with proper care and storage.
