I use this to great success with 223/556 in my AR-15/M.S.R. with 55 grain FMJ boat tail with cannelure, CCI small rifle primers and old range brass I picked out of the dirt and mud. I started with the minimum load in an older Speer manual @24.5 grains. My main goal was to make shooting the semi auto more affordable but 4064 makes 1 to 2 MOA easy and repeatable with a 1x red dot ou to 75 yards so far. It runs clean and has soft recoil compared to most factory ammo I've tried. I've also loaded some 22-250 and I'm looking forward to see if it works as well with that caliber. I use a Lee perfect powder measure and I will occasionally get a light charge (-.1 and sometimes -.2 grains) so if there is a drawback it would be metering out match grade loads with the lee powder measure. It still shoots good groups even with that amount of variation.
I have used numerous powder but for mid range guns 270,280,308,30-06 I have found IMR 4064 to be the most consistent and accurate.
This product works great. I matched it with a SMK 175gr bullet, Federal 210m primer, and Lupua brass to achieve a .43 MOA on a 5 shot group.
