The skinny: Mediocre quality; they are really waterproof. OK, so the crotch ripped out the first time I took them hunting. It was a week long elk hunting trip, and I wasn't about to come home over a pair of pants, so I stitched 'em up with dental floss and went on my way. The problem seems to be that the crotch hangs down pretty far from where the pants ride on the waist, so the seam gets really stressed when you step over logs and whatnot. It's a weak seam - just a single stitch, and it failed. I will wear these pants with suspenders in the future, which I think will help with the low crotch issue. Apart from the blowout, I am reasonably happy with them. They are totally waterproof, and the scent control seems to work (at least they don't seem to stink as bad as most synthetics after a week in the woods). A couple of nit-picky things: The cargo pockets do not have a membrane, so the contents get soaked if you walk through tall wet grass, snowy branches, etc.; and, they make a sort of a soft "squeak" noise against some synthetic long underwear, which is undesirable for stalking. I wouldn't buy these (or any other pants without at least double-stitched seams) again.
