Best Copper Removal

By

from Arizona Territories

If you want just a powder solvent-type bore cleaner, almost any brand will work well. However, if you want to remove the copper fouling that builds up after firing copper jacketed ammo in any rifle or pistol, this bore cleaner can't be beat. It doesn't smell like much, it doesn't taste like much (it's non-toxic), but it removes copper fouling faster, safer and more completely than any other product I've used over the past 3 decades.

Simply spray in the foam to fill your bore, keep it horizontal, and walk away for about 30 minutes. Run a couple of patches down the bore to remove the now bright blue foam/residue. One application will normally suffice, however if you shoot one of the old German or Russian military surplus rifles with a neglected pitted or frosted bore from corrosive primer residue, a couple of applications will remove fouling like nothing else you've ever used. You'll be surprised at what comes out of that bore you've spent so much time "cleaning". And unlike copper cleaners containing ammonia, it won't harm bluing, either. Caution if you use a bristle brush, to use nylon & not bronze bristles, since it will dissolve the copper in a bronze brush.

Spray it in, wipe it out, then follow-up with your favorite gun oil, such as Barricade, CLP or Rem Oil.
