I went on a camping weekend with some friends and my new Android. At 10 AM we left the vehicles parked at the end of a road and hiked 12Kms into the woods. At about 2 PM I heard a beep from my phone and it was telling me my battery was very low. I asked about and no one in the party had a way of recharging their phone. They told me they shut off their phones till a pre arranged hour and would contact their family then.
One suggested that I walk back to the cars and recharge my phone off my car. So I trudged the 12Kms back to the car and recharged the phone, cursing all the while, because I was missing out on the afternoon fishing. All the way back to the campsite I mumbled to myself that that would be the last time that would happen to me!
The next week I went on line and researched all kinds of systems that I could use backpacking. I asked a few of my friends and one of them recommended GZ Guide 10 Plus Adventure Kit.
I rushed down to the Paddle Shack and purchased the kit. After two weeks of testing and experimenting I was very confident and happy with my purchase.
The morning of the next camp weekend, I switched on everything on my phone, even the bluetooth. At 2 PM my phone was completly dead. One of the guys laughed and said that it looks like another Marathon walk to charge my phone. You should have seen their faces when I pulled out the GZ and they watched the battery charging light flash on my phone and 2 1/2 hrs later it was fully charged. At 10pm my phone beeped again signaling a low battery. They all started to laugh saying, "Does it work by moolight too?". I then took out the GZ Guide 10 Battery pack, plugged my phone in and "Oh! Man!" was all I could hear when the charging light came on.
The next morning, I recharged the bateries in the GZ Guide 10, topped up my phone's charge, and swithed out the batteries in my backup GPS (2AA) and my flashlight (2AA)and recharged them before I did my PM recharge on my phone.
By the end of the weekend all of my campmates were saying how they had to get a GZ of their own.
That was last May 24 Weekend (4 day camp) and I am still using the kit even on winter camps. I am never without power for all my electronic devices including video cameras. I even bought another GZ Guide 10 Battery Pack to allow me even more power for more devices.
I am one very happy camper!

I live in Arizona and I bought the lantern package and also purchased the Goal 10. I have tried numerous times to get a full charge on the lantern from the Nomad 7 and have NEVER succeeded. All day in the sun for less than an hour of light. I don't feel it was advertised properly and the instructions that come with are very sketchy. I had to call multiple times for help. They also took the money out a MONTH before they sent it out because of a back-up. I don't feel that's good business. I spent a lot of money for a product that doesn't work like they said so I won't be buying anything else!

I bought this a few weeks ago just in time for spring break! I was interested in using a solar panel and playing around with it! I ended up taking it on my spring break camping trip to try it out. It worked so well! I ended up using it to charge my phone (and my friend's phone as well)!
all i do is place the batteries in the charger and let the sun do the work...its that easy..great product--------greater company
Awesome product. So many different options for use. Can't go wrong with this purchase. It pays for itself
i took this on a 3 day backpacking trip. it worked great, it kept my phone charged and my head lamp. both up the same USB port witch was nice cause i only needed one cable
Just returned from a Trek at Philmont. This combo worked perfectly. With the Nomad 7 strapped to the lid of the backpack, and the Guide 10 inside the pocket, charging was usually complete by noon on the sunny days. Only after the 3-consecutive overcast and rainy days did the Guide 10 not have enough power to fully charge the iPhone (used to track and record the route), but the secondary set of AAA batteries I had was enough to carry me over until the sun came back out. Overall, I'm very happy with this combo.
I am a total Goal Zero Fan and this is one of my favorite items. The batteries can be charged in the wall or with the solar panels. I can use the individual rechargeable batteries for other items like a flashlight. I can also use the batteries combined as a pack (as shown in the picture) and charge my cell phone and go pro from it. When out camping, I can recharge my batteries with the Nomad 7 solar panels. With this combination of solar and batteries, I am never without the power needed to charge my essentials. Keeping my phone charged allows me to keep in touch with home so everyone knows I am safe when I am ion an excursion.
Got this just before a hike. Took it for my trip on the Wonderland Trail in WA. Kept my cell phone and In Touch charged along with batteries for the whole two weeks. Wouldn't go on another trip without it.
My hubby and I received the Guide 10 Plus Solar Kit as a Christmas gift this past year and could not love it anymore. It was easy to figure out how to use, it has plenty of cords so you can hook it up to many different electronics, and it works very well. Obviously the amount of sun affects the charging time, but we have taken it on several trips and never had an issue. We have a speaker and torch to go with it, so we can count on having music, light, and GPS whenever we are are out exploring. Overall a great product that I am happy to own!!
I bought this from an outdoor adventure store in Adelaide and I've had nothing but positive experiences since. The solar panels have been through rain, 40+ degree celcius heat, sat on the dash in my car for days on end, been left out over night, been dropped and even sat on! Still going strong! The battery pack is a joy to use too, just wish it didn't make the high pitched noise when charging my iPhone 4s. Only seems to do it for my iPhone so makes me think it's probably an issue with my phone more than the battery pack. Strongly suggest buying this if you live an adventurous lifestyle and need a quick charge up while on the go!
I purchased 6 months ago and it has held up well so far, the only problem was the cheap zipper holds on carry case, they broke off first pull, other than that it has been a great little product.
