It seems to be a piece of junk. Never would load or fire the pellets correctly. Just jammed up in the barrel. Am in the process of trying to get my money back.Tom of Tucson, AZ - May, 19 2013:
Much better than expected and wonderfully cheap. The package arrived sooner than expected in excellent shape. The rifle is much better than my old one. The adjustable shoulder rest is great.DBrown of Sparks, NV - March, 05 2011:
My son got a gift card (for another store! =/) from his uncle for Christmas. His first words: "I know! I'll get a BB gun!" Well, Dad and son went to that store, tried every BB gun they had and not only our 8 yr old boy couldn't pump except one of them without a major struggle- his 6' 2" dad had a heck of a time with most. Of course, the one he could pump was sold out! (wonder why?!?) Son was disappointed; father was baffled. These were kid-sized BB guns, yet a kid couldn't operate them. Made no sense. So, I took to the online world. After some searching, I discovered the Crosman Recruit. I first noticed that although it's for *16 years +*, it is designed for shooters 4-6 feet tall. I read reviews. The one that struck me was a teenager who loved the gun and said that even his 8 year old sister was able to use it with no trouble. Luckily, my local Sportsman's Warehouse had the Crosman Recruit in stock. Dad and son went to see it. Dad checked it over and deemed it worthy; son tried it out and was able to pump it. It was *the one* so they bought it. Our son was so proud to bring his new Crosman Recruit home! He was thrilled that not only it had a scope, but also the fiber optic sight as well. Initially, our son could pump the Recruit just once- which is enough; now, a couple of months later, it's broken in and he's stronger- he's able to pump it 3 times. (Max power is 10 pumps) The adjustable stock at shortest is perfect for our son; at full extension, it makes the gun usable for dad. The adjustability and quality of the gun will allow our son to continue to use this gun as he grows. While the initial cost was slightly higher, the ease of use makes this an overall safer gun for our son- definitely worth the investment. Added bonus: with the exception of the scope, this gun is built in the USA.
