I've been wearing Costas approx 20 years, within this time frame, I have only had 2 (two) pairs. Both the Fathom design. It's also important to note that I am one of those people who rarely remove their sunglasses! If they are not protecting my eyes, they are atop my head, makeshift hair accessory so to speak - Used to push my hair from around my face. While fishing, I'm able to see beneath the waters surface, wether I'm watching the aquatic life or enjoying topography Costas are the absolute best in every aspect for practical reasons and more just for the perks. I have convinced family to invest and they have never wanted to go back to previous brands! They too become hooked once they see what they have been missing esp around the water, not to mention the eye protection. I have always needed eyewear for my overly sensitive eyes and photophobia; an all day bass fishing trip left me with sun burned eyes. Excruciating to say the least and when I asked the mgr of a well known sporting outfitters for advice, I was told of the Costa Del Mar brand and I've never ever worn any other brand since. I'm such an advocate for the Costa brand but I don't mind, I would never want anyone else to have the false sense that their high end sunglasses are just as any other re eye protection. Enough can not be stated re Costas but I've shared quite a bit here so if i help only one person avoid eye burn, then it's all good... Thank you for the amazing eye protection. ..... Crazyhorse

These were tenderly cared for and I had them for a year and a half. I took them off this afternoon and the temple came right off the frame, leaving the temple still behind my ear. I heard the hinge pop screw came right through where hinge cracked. Unfortunately, I had taken these to an optical shop who sent them away for prescription lenses that were non-Costa lenses. It turns out that non-Costa prescription lenses void the warranty, even though the frame is intact (except for the hinge) and the lenses are as good as the day I purchased them and they look brand new. I found the statement about the warranty on the back of the paperwork that I had saved and the Costa prescription shop confirmed I had voided the warranty when I called them. Kind of a cop-out with the warranty when nothing that was done by the prescription shop I used, caused the issue and I've used them gently for the last year since these lenses were installed. I love the glasses, but a hinge break this soon is unsatisfactory. In fact the regular warranty calls broken hinges as wear and tear and state that repair charges will be levied for this. I have other sunglasses over 10 years old at 1/4 the cost that have never had a hinge fail - actually, I've never had a hinge fail except for these Costas. My only option is to purchase another pair of the same (the Fathom style) and have a prescription shop pop out the lenses and put in the ones I have - only to void the warranty again. I would not recommend these for the price when the hinge seems to be a very weak link and the warranty gives them an out for fixing without charge.

Comments about Costa Fathom Polarized Sunglasses - Black/ Blue Mirror:

I like the new glasses but should have ordered the 580G instead of the 580P since I wanted the mirror lenses like my old Brines that I dropped and cracked after many year of perfect viewing.

My favorite glasses ever!

Comments about Costa Fathom Polarized Sunglasses - Black/ Blue Mirror:

I've had these for close to 2 years. I got tired of buying cheap glasses only to have them get scratched or break within a couple months. I did the math and figured out this was actually the cheaper option. After wearing these for about 2 years the rubber nose pieces and the rubber along the ear pieces started to deteriorate. I had dropped them a few months back on gravel from the top of my head and scratched the lens. I sent them back figuring I'd have to pay for the lenses since scratches aren't covered. I did pay for that repair but was surprised at how quickly I got them back and that I got a free lens upgrade since they didn't offer the older 400 series lens. The 580 lens is amazing and now they are better than the day I bought them!

Awesome Sunglasses!

Comments about Costa Fathom Polarized Sunglasses - Black/ Blue Mirror:

I bought these a year ago for riding my Harley although I do spend some time on the water. Best glasses I have ever owned, the visual clarity is top notch and worth the coin spent. If something ever happens to these, I will just have to get another pair. I use ZZ Top's "Cheap Sunglasses" for a ring tone but wear Costa's

I have had these glasses less than 6 months, the frame broke bc the plastic is cheap. A broken frame isn't covered under warranty!!!

Great Sunglasses exceptional quality

Comments about Costa Fathom Polarized Sunglasses - Black/ Blue Mirror:

I bought my first pair about 15 years ago and they are my daily eyewear(prescription lenses from Clearsight Opticians). I purchased a backup pair in Tortoise shell with green mirror that I use while on vacation, or special occasions since they are in like new condition. Go ahead and do your eyes a favor and buy Costa's you cannot go wrong. Don't settle for any substitutions or cheap ones, you only have one set of eyes. You will not be disappointed with the purchase, they are well worth the price.
