This product is exactly what it is described as. Its a beginner level elk bugle that sounds like a young bull (doesn't seem to intimidate other bulls). Reeds tend to last about 1-2 years and are easy to change. I bought my first one for my first year archery hunting with the idea that I would replace it with something better as I learned about the calls. Here I am years later and this simple design is easily my favorite call. Last year alone in pre-rut I called in 7 bulls for myself and friends taking my 6pt on opening day. If you're a veteran elk hunter this probably isn't for you but if you are new and want a super easy call this is for you.
I got the Mac Daddy with high hopes, and to my surprise, the call just couldn't preform the way I wanted it to. The whole idea of the Mac Daddy is promising, but the diaphragm that it uses is junk. Within a week of owning the call, the latex was stretched out and made a scratchy, irritating sound that would scare an elk rather than attract it. With that being said, the call is good quality but unless you want to replace the diaphragm every other week the call isn't for you. Then again, prove me wrong. :)
