CVA Wolf .50Cal Muzzleloader Black-Blued(1253983)
CVA Wolf .50Cal Muzzleloader Black-Blued - The recently redesigned Wolf has all the features that made the original Wolf, the number one selling muzzleloader in the world, plus many new features.
CVA Wolf .50Cal Muzzleloader Black-Blued - The Wolf Muzzleloader is still lightweight and easy to maneuver. The stock on the Wolf is 100 percent ambidextrous for right or left handed use. The Wolf also features CVA's new QRBP (Quick Release Breech Plug), the only truly tool free removal breech plug on the market today. Even after 20 or more shots, the QRBP comes out with just a twist of the fingers. Plus, the break action breech opens easily with just a touch of the breeching button, which is located in the front of the trigger guard. The Wolf's compact and quick pointing barrel is made of blued steel. The Wolf, it's a lot of gun but not a lot of money!

Splurge on the SS barrel version. I have 30yr old+ guns that are used regularly, rain or shine, that haven't done what this one did in a season. My blued barrel rusted and pitted inside and out even with meticulous cleaning and oiling. Although CVA was quick to send me a replacement ramrod when mine broke, for this case, all they offered were condolences due to my lack on maintenance and a 30% discount on their cleaning products. Having said that, Its a straight shooter. Both myself and my son-in-law took a deer at a 100 yards and it holds tight groups out to 150.
Very açcurate, light, easy to clean with the quick release breech plug. My only issue is the placement of the action release on the front of the trigger guard. While hunting, I constantly would trip the action open, sometimes not realizing it. Models with the lever at the rear of the trigger guard don't have this problem. Still, it's a good gun.
A great option for an inexpensive way to get in on early gun. Use the recommended powerbelts with 100 gr pelleted powder and you've got a gun that is accurate enough for a scope (has pre-drilled holes for scope mount). I havent added a scope yet but the gun is as accurate as you can be without one. The only complaints are that the ramrod slides out a little after shooting and the neon piece in the front sight can slide out (easy fix). Its lightweight and very basic, and it doesnt look like anything special, but it definitely can get the job done.
