Giving this certain camera a 1 is being too generous. There are way too may negatives about this camera but I'll name a few. Pictures are horrible, battery life with lithium batteries is ridiculous, camera will work for a few days then quit for a week. The bad thing about returning this piece of junk is that I cant get a refund. I purchased it off of AMAZON ($277..00) and they only accepts return up to 30 days, when I got a hold of BUSHNELL, they wouldn't repair it without a price for labor and shipping and handling. Never again! I hope this saves people the time and money.
Camera does NOT work as advertised. If it storms, camera wont work or transmit pictures for a couple of days. When you do get pictures they are too dark or distorted to view. Main site doesn't work properly when you log in and want to save e-mail address and password, you have to re-log in each time to see pictures. Camera is really just an average trail camera and very over priced.
This camera isn't what they say it is. It will work for a few days and then nothing for a week. The pictures are far from clear, it also sends back a lot of ALL black and ALL white pictures. Bushnell's site has a complete map of where you can and can not get coverage (3-bars), disregard the map, it's not even close. Where I have my camera, I says I am getting 3 bars when I am lucky to have 1 bar. Don't waste your time or money until they get ALL the bugs worked out.
I had a Covert before this that was poor at best. First this camera/service is EASY to set-up, register/set-up an account with Bushnell. Then install the batteries and an SD card. That's it !!! It is up and running, You can change your preferences with either the camera or on your computer via your Bushnell account.
I see Chris from NY says the thumbnail quality is fair, well they are just low quality thumbnails being sent to your phone/computer. You can get higher quality pics from Bushnell if you desire at an additional price or do it the old fashioned way and go pull the SD card from the camera and all of the pics will be of higher quality so a non issue to me.
Secondly he states that he doesn't get pics sent on a regular basis but then admits it is in an area with poor reception, so what would you expect with poor reception. It says in the instructions that you need 2 bars minimum for the camera to work.
To me I think the Bushnell Camera is great, at least compared to my previous Covert camera. I am here on the Sportsman's Warehouse site today to buy another on but sadly they are sold out.
So in the end I think this is a very good camera at a reasonable price with a good simple usage plan, could the thumbnail pic quality be better ? Surely it could be but then the data used to upload pics then would skyrocket so I am happy knowing that higher quality pics are waiting for me on my SD card if I desire. Could the reception be better ? Show me any cellular device that couldn't use better reception. A Great camera/plan, can't wait to purchase another !!!
I bought this product from Cabelas because at the time they were the cheapest but I see now sportsmanswearhouse has it the cheapest. This camera is pretty cool when it decides to send you the photos. I set it up in the woods and I would receive photos immediately and then for some reason after a few days of good uploads I would get nothing for 3-4 days and then all of a sudden receive all of those photos it took during that time in a mass upload. It's been 5 days since my last upload and I know I've had activity in that area so we'll see when it decides to upload the pictures. Cell service is fair where the camera is placed so that may be the issue. The thumbnails it sends aren't the clearest but you can definitely make out what it is. Not a terrible camera but I think we are still a little ways away from a wireless cam that has worked out the kinks....it seems after reviewing a lot of wireless cams on the market there are still a lot of issues with them.
