I have had this mounted on a S&W 44 Mag revolver for about two years now and have had no issues or trouble. I bought this site because as I am getting older and having to wear bifocal glasses I was having trouble using the open sites on the pistol. Either the target was clear or the sites but not both. This site fixed all those problems. I have shot the pistol many times now and after initially siting it in, have never had to change the site adjustments. I have not had to change the battery yet either. The only thing that troubles some people, but is not a problem for me, is the red dot is not always a dot. It sometimes looks distorted or looks like a star. The appearance of the dot also changes according to the intensity of the dot. I usually keep the intensity setting on automatic. The deer in the pictures was taken using this 44 Mag and Burris FastFire III. My best ever with the pistol.

The sight worked well for 3 months. I was impressed with how it improved my out of position shooting with my shotgun. I have it mounted on a SpeedBead on a Browning Maxus that use for turkey, goose and duck hunting. I put it on my shotgun for turkey season and tried it out on the trap ranged and was impressed. I do a lot of hunting out of a layout blind and I'm rarely in perfect position when taking a shot. a lot of time I'm shooting behind or at a awkward angle for goose and duck, so it makes it hard to have perfect sight alignment. The SpeedBead and fast fire eliminate the human error portion of those shots. where the red dot is is where it hits. I noticed that when i was shooting clays out of my layout blind at difficult angles I doubled my hits with this sight. Unfortunately right about the time early goose season started my sight started moving to the right little by little. I have it right above my front bead on my shotgun so its easy to see weather it moved. Every morning I would have to move it back to the left about 4-10 clicks. I verified the mount was secure and then place a dab of fingernail polish on the windage adjustment to see if that was moving. it turned out that the dot was moving and the windage adjustment was remaining in place. Fortunately Burris has an excellent warranty policy, I called them and had it shipped out today to have it replaced. We will see how quickly the return is and I will right a review on that also. I am hoping to have it back for opening day of duck season here in Michigan. I am really looking forward to hunting with this sight this year. If you asked me to right this review a month ago it would have been a easy 5 stars.

Very Happy So Far

By

Comments about Burris Fastfire III Red Dot Sight:

With the use of a sight pusher to remove the old sight, it was easy to install and zero to the gun. I shot it today at the range and enjoyed the session. Mine is an 8 MOA dot and is easy to pick up and at handgun distances the dot size seems just perfect to me. The sight held its zero through the 50 rounds I fired.

Great customer service and a good product.

Comments about Burris Fastfire III Red Dot Sight:

The first one broke after 7 months but Burris stepped up and made it good in no time. I ordered a second Fastfire III because I use them for competitive pistol shooting and wanted a backup... just in case.

Great sight!

Comments about Burris Fastfire III Red Dot Sight:

I purchased this sight less than a month ago and mounted it on a modern sporting rifle. Due to my bad eyesight I wear bifocals and target acquisition with regular sights is not possible, and using a scope requires too much time (in my opinion). I purchased the 8-MOA sight and I am extremely pleased with it. Not only is target acquisition fast, but I can shoot with both eyes open with no problems. Zeroing at 25 yards took a little more time than I expected due to the small amount of movement with each click, but for the best accuracy I was very pleased with the small movement. The only drawback was that I forgot to turn the sight off one time and ran the battery down, but now I remove the battery after each use. I have only fired around 90 rounds with this sight but I have not had any deviation from the original zero.

Number 4

Comments about Burris Fastfire III Red Dot Sight:

Just received my fourth fast fire 3, so obviously I like the sight. Only thing is this one has problems with the switch. So before I got to use it I had to send it in for service, which I really don't like to have a new item worked on before using it. One other one I have, the switch is finicky on but works. Probably should have given 5 stars, just upset for having to put more money out and waiting on it.

Battery cover problem

By

from PSL Florida

Comments about Burris Fastfire III Red Dot Sight:

I purchased the Fast Fire III and mounted it on my Ruger MK III. The first visit to the range to sight it in thRobertoe battery cover came off not once, but twice. I hope this is not going to be an ongoing problem. Other than that the sight worked great, I'd like to put one on all my pistols, but the battery cover problem needs to be solved first.

Great when it works, but shuts off on rapid fire

By

from Washington, United States

Comments about Burris Fastfire III Red Dot Sight:

First off I'm a FastFire fan. I own 4. So either the FF3 I got is a dud or they just are not designed to handle rapid fire common to 3 gun matches. I installed it on a Glock 34 MOS and it was great with slow fire. But as soon as I put two on each of 5 targets quickly it shut off. Brand new battery. It's too bad because it was very accurate, but if it can't stay on it's worthless.

Quality and affordable red dot

By

from Boulder, Colorado

Comments about Burris Fastfire III Red Dot Sight:

I have both the 3 MOA and the 8 MOA that I have used on a S&W CORE 9 mm. Both have performed flawlessly and have held up to thousands of rounds in competition. The only problem that I had was the battery cover loosening which happened because I did not have the cover tight enough in the first place. Put a small mark on the cover and it did not move again. Easy to install on a CORE and although the dot is not co-witnessed with the sights, it is close. The biggest set-up problem I had was tightening the battery cap. For some reason it was easy to cross thread on the 3 MOA model but not the 8 MOA model. Maybe just a quirk in that particular sight. Line up the sights and you will see the red dot. Very visible in all lighting conditions and I have not had to use the shade cover even when shooting in the bright Colorado sun. The 8 MOA dot seems a little better for competition pistol shooting but the 3 MOA dot was also adequate.

Amazing sight for the money!!!

By

from St. Petersburg, FL, United States

Comments about Burris Fastfire III Red Dot Sight:

I have been using this FF III 8 MOA on my Springfield XDM 4.5 9mm since November 2015 and I couldn't be happier. Absolutely no problems whatsoever. It took me only 20 minutes to mount and 5 shots to sight it in at 25 yrds. No sweats. I have put over 5000 rds in USPSA Carry Optics competitions. The transition from iron sight to red dot takes a little while, but once you get the hang of it its a lot of fun. Since then I have been among the 3 top Carry Optics class C shooters in the nation. Acquiring the targets is easy and extremely accurate. Mikes come by very rarely. Actually I'm writing this review because today I bought my second FF III 8 MOA for my spare Springfield. You won't be disappointed GREAT JOB BURRIS!!!

Great sight for The Money

By

from NC

Comments about Burris Fastfire III Red Dot Sight:

This is my favorite red dot sight for competition shooting. The auto brightness function always keeps the dot at the correct brightness for best visibility. The only thing I don't like is that the windage and elevation adjustments are not in positive "clicks" and seem to be held in place by friction only.
