I have had this mounted on a S&W 44 Mag revolver for about two years now and have had no issues or trouble. I bought this site because as I am getting older and having to wear bifocal glasses I was having trouble using the open sites on the pistol. Either the target was clear or the sites but not both. This site fixed all those problems. I have shot the pistol many times now and after initially siting it in, have never had to change the site adjustments. I have not had to change the battery yet either. The only thing that troubles some people, but is not a problem for me, is the red dot is not always a dot. It sometimes looks distorted or looks like a star. The appearance of the dot also changes according to the intensity of the dot. I usually keep the intensity setting on automatic. The deer in the pictures was taken using this 44 Mag and Burris FastFire III. My best ever with the pistol.

The sight worked well for 3 months. I was impressed with how it improved my out of position shooting with my shotgun. I have it mounted on a SpeedBead on a Browning Maxus that use for turkey, goose and duck hunting. I put it on my shotgun for turkey season and tried it out on the trap ranged and was impressed. I do a lot of hunting out of a layout blind and I'm rarely in perfect position when taking a shot. a lot of time I'm shooting behind or at a awkward angle for goose and duck, so it makes it hard to have perfect sight alignment. The SpeedBead and fast fire eliminate the human error portion of those shots. where the red dot is is where it hits. I noticed that when i was shooting clays out of my layout blind at difficult angles I doubled my hits with this sight. Unfortunately right about the time early goose season started my sight started moving to the right little by little. I have it right above my front bead on my shotgun so its easy to see weather it moved. Every morning I would have to move it back to the left about 4-10 clicks. I verified the mount was secure and then place a dab of fingernail polish on the windage adjustment to see if that was moving. it turned out that the dot was moving and the windage adjustment was remaining in place. Fortunately Burris has an excellent warranty policy, I called them and had it shipped out today to have it replaced. We will see how quickly the return is and I will right a review on that also. I am hoping to have it back for opening day of duck season here in Michigan. I am really looking forward to hunting with this sight this year. If you asked me to right this review a month ago it would have been a easy 5 stars.

Great for older eyes

By

from Dayton, OH, United States

Comments about Burris Fastfire III Red Dot Sight:

Bought 2 for competition. One of them started to turn off intermittently. Quickly got an RMA and was surprised how fast a new Fast Fire was in my mailbox. Both are a pleasure to use. I have never been so accurate before.

After 6 months

Comments about Burris Fastfire III Red Dot Sight:

Sight is very accurate. Have had it for six months but recently the dot is blurring and has lost its round definition. Any thoughts?

What Great Optics

By

Comments about Burris Fastfire III Red Dot Sight:

I bought this to put on a Springfield XDm optics ready 9mm. I liked it so much, I bought a Fast Fire III for my Ruger 22/45. I have only put about 100 rounds through both, but a second trip to the range proved that it held zero. I absolutely love it.

Rugged and compact

By

Comments about Burris Fastfire III Red Dot Sight:

Works great when mounted on a picatinny rail. Requires a 0.010" shim when mounted to the Burris AR-332 site. Together they provide excellent accuracy at 100 yards and close up. When mounted to the Burris SpeadBead on my shotgun, the hope is that I'll get more birds come dove season.

Great sight

Comments about Burris Fastfire III Red Dot Sight:

This is my second ff3, the first is on a glock 22. After 3 years it's still holding 0! The second was an addition to a ruger 22/45 lite. The sight runs great but I would recommend the 3 moa not the 8 for that setup.

Very Happy So Far

By

from Florida, United States

Comments about Burris Fastfire III Red Dot Sight:

With the use of a sight pusher to remove the old sight, it was easy to install and zero to the gun. I shot it today at the range and enjoyed the session. Mine is an 8 MOA dot and is easy to pick up and at handgun distances the dot size seems just perfect to me. The sight held its zero through the 50 rounds I fired.

Great customer service and a good product.

Comments about Burris Fastfire III Red Dot Sight:

The first one broke after 7 months but Burris stepped up and made it good in no time. I ordered a second Fastfire III because I use them for competitive pistol shooting and wanted a backup... just in case.

Great sight!

Comments about Burris Fastfire III Red Dot Sight:

I purchased this sight less than a month ago and mounted it on a modern sporting rifle. Due to my bad eyesight I wear bifocals and target acquisition with regular sights is not possible, and using a scope requires too much time (in my opinion). I purchased the 8-MOA sight and I am extremely pleased with it. Not only is target acquisition fast, but I can shoot with both eyes open with no problems. Zeroing at 25 yards took a little more time than I expected due to the small amount of movement with each click, but for the best accuracy I was very pleased with the small movement. The only drawback was that I forgot to turn the sight off one time and ran the battery down, but now I remove the battery after each use. I have only fired around 90 rounds with this sight but I have not had any deviation from the original zero.

Number 4

By

from Waldron Arkansas

Comments about Burris Fastfire III Red Dot Sight:

Just received my fourth fast fire 3, so obviously I like the sight. Only thing is this one has problems with the switch. So before I got to use it I had to send it in for service, which I really don't like to have a new item worked on before using it. One other one I have, the switch is finicky on but works. Probably should have given 5 stars, just upset for having to put more money out and waiting on it.

Battery cover problem

By

from PSL Florida

Comments about Burris Fastfire III Red Dot Sight:

I purchased the Fast Fire III and mounted it on my Ruger MK III. The first visit to the range to sight it in thRobertoe battery cover came off not once, but twice. I hope this is not going to be an ongoing problem. Other than that the sight worked great, I'd like to put one on all my pistols, but the battery cover problem needs to be solved first.
