I am a diesel mechanic by trade. I have carried a pocket knife since I was 12. I have carried the Nobleman in my pocket for the past 5 years. Cutting everything from hard plastic lines, rubber hoses, zip ties, rope, nylon straps, boxes, et all. It gets oils, cleaners, chemicals, and fuel all over it and it does not phase it one bit. It holds a edge through some heavy use. I sharpen it about once a month just out of habit. I do have to replace it every few years due to me doing things I should not be doing with it, but I always buy another one.

I loved my old version of this knife - all metal, smooth design. This new version is a huge departure in both looks and quality. Severly disappointed that this is made in China, more disappointed that the lock is plastic, liked the smooth finish much better than the new grip section. The look, function, and quality of this iteration have taken a negative departure from the previously high quality elegant looking predecessor of the same name. Bad move Buck.

Good knife, but why is half the thumb stud missing?

By

from Colorado

Comments about Buck Knives Buck Nobleman Knives:

I've had one of these for several years, and it has probably seen the most every day use out of all of my knives. My 119 Special is great but huge, and my Ranger is rock solid but not as easy to carry, so this is a great EDC for everyday tasks. It fit every need I had for it: fit in my pocket, blade just under 3", one handed opening with left and right hands, and framelock design (much easier to clean if it's used in, say, a jar of peanut butter). Because of this I've carried it on many trips in the Rockies and multiple times into the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (It also survived being dropped in three different lakes). However, this new version is missing half the thumb stud. This makes it very difficult to operate left-handed, when one-handed operation by either hand is kind of the primary point of a small utility knife like this. Even as a right-handed person I use this in my left hand constantly, and the lock is designed well enough to be used left-handed, but the lack of a left-handed thumbstud in this new version is incredibly disappointing. It's such a little thing, and it severely reduces the functionality; I would not buy another Nobleman unless the thumbstud was corrected. (Then I would buy another immediately). Buck, please fix the Nobleman thumbstud, just return it to the way it was.

Comments about Buck Knives Buck Nobleman Knives:

I have had this knife for about 4 years got it from sports academy and have been very happy with it. It keeps a very sharp edge on the blade and the lock on the blade comes in handy most of the time. I do recommend this knife.

Comments about Buck Knives Buck Nobleman Knives:

I bought mine when I was on vacation about 8 months ago and I instantly fell in love with it. The blade keeps a nice sharp edge, the folding mechanism is nice a smooth. I like to collect knives and I have a few that are a bit more expensive but, this is truly my favorite knife out of them all. Great buy! Highly reccomend!

Very good for a China make

By

Comments about Buck Knives Buck Nobleman Knives:

I bought a carbon fibre nobleman a year or two ago. It is very lightweight and comfortable. Holds an edge very well, I've only had to sharpen it twice. Works as a great chore or everyday knife. Two complaints: -Made in China. Even though it is a very good knife, I'm a little dissapointed that Buck would import a knife. -The finish wears off handle fairly easy, after about 6 months mine started to come off. Other than that it is a great knife as long as you don't care if it shows wear, I would reccomend it.

Great blade

Comments about Buck Knives Buck Nobleman Knives:

I love this knife! I use it all the time. When I fly fish, I hike a lot, and it's great to have a sharp dependable blade. The best part is that you can hardly tell it's there until you need it. Even though it's made in china, It's a Buck design and I'm sure they have great pride in any product build. Great knife!

Nobleman 327 very disappointing.

By

from Avondale, AZ

Comments about Buck Knives Buck Nobleman Knives:

Yesterday, I bought a Nobleman 327 for my son while on vacation. Upon our return home. I opened it up to check it out for myself before giving him some safety tips. The knife opened smoothly enough. The only problem was I couldn't fold the blade back into the case. At first I thought I wasn't performing the right motion. So I looked on YouTube to watch a review. The person discussing the knife opened and closed it with ease using one and. His knife had two thumb studs. Mine only has one. In any case, I have still not been able to close the blade. I've tried pulling out and closing and even using the table as a back stop for the blade as I apply pressure to close it. Nothing works. I will be sending this knife in for a fully functional model. Like the previous reviewer, I am not crazy about the one thumb stud.

Comments about Buck Knives Buck Nobleman Knives:

Long time supporter of Buck. Bought probably several dozen over time for self, relatives and as gifts for friends. Knowing I was a Buck fan my daughter bought a special one for me and had it engraved..."for my daddy all my love moose" (nickname).
