    Clean burning

    By

I wouldn't say its that amazing since this is just smokeless powder. As such it acts like smokeless: very little residue, very consistent, has the ability to run at higher pressure than other substitutes. Now that it's legal in Utah it's a great option if you don't mind dealing with loose powder. My T/C shoots under MOA with T7 pellets and Barnes TMZs and I've yet to find a load with Blackhorn 209 that shoots that well, although my testing has been limited. Looking forward to doing more testing to find a good load with this powder. It's main advantage is the clean burning which means no swabbing between shots, even for tight-fitting sabots.

Absolutely amazing stuff!! I was sceptical at first but then I tried it and all I have to say is wow! I shot a 3 shot 2 inch group at 200 yards with my bone collector. Oh and thats after I shot 7 shots at 100 yards. 10 shots with out cleaning my gun and guess what! it took one wet patch and two dry and my gun was spotless again.

    Black Horn 209 ML Powder

I have used the other two major synthetic powders in both loose and pelleted form. Blackhorn 209 is far superior. The manufacturer's website recommends weighing rather than measuring this powder. Its accuracy is amazing when coupled with the right bullet for your gun. I got a 3 1/2 in. 5 shot group at 200 yards and a 2 in 6 shot group at 100. (I don't profess to be the best shot in the world, but this impressed me) And this powder is clean compared to other synthetics without the need to clean between shots. It cleans with solvent (lessens the rust worry) instead of water and only takes about 4 patches for the barrel. The biggest drawback is it is spendier than the other options. And it is for 209 primered guns only.
