I compared these back to back with Nikon Prostaff S3s, and Vortex Diamond Backs among others. Those models were the best I thought I'd find until I tried the Alpens. The Alpens were brighter and clearer than either of those models (and everything else I tried). The Vortexs in particular were the top recommendation for around $200+ from the sales staff at three different sporting goods stores. I went back to the stores after I bought my Alpens to compare them against the Diamond Backs again and confirm my initial impression. After comparing them again I just felt like they let more light in and had a brighter view. At one shop the salesman let me take the Nikon's outside (they had a wider FOV) to compare them to the Alpens. I spotted a car and group of people on a ridge top miles away near a radio tower (the car was invisible to the naked eye). I mentioned it to the salesman so he went outside to see and he tried the Nikons first then I handed him the Alpens and he said "boy those are clearer than the Nikons". It was late in the day and in low light on an overcast day. I am very confident I have the best or one of the best binoculars out there in this price range. I would not hesitate to buy them again.
I'ev had these binoculars for around 3 years never let me down yet....
I've had my pair for over 5 years and they are an amazing piece of glass. Compared in the store to Nikon, Redfield, Vortex Diamondbacks, and more and these are simply better! Very pleased with the clarity and the warranty from the Alpen.
Lightweight and easy to carry, I like these for day light use, however they are not the best for dusk and dawn.
