Good idea but a lousy design. This rack does stand the handguns up and keep them off the carpet in the safe, but it doesn't work as good as it could. The angle of the barrel rods lets the grip of 5 inch barreled pistols hit the back bar, and the rubber bumpers on the ends of the barrel rods are too large to fit .22 cal handguns. The 22 cal works on the rod with the bumper removed, but I'm afraid it would scratch the crown. Works well for the revolvers I tried though (except .22).
